Mitch, you must be on the edge of your seat. I don't think I'd be able to sleep. I'm glad to hear that she and the baby are healthy even though they've past the "due date." Every body is different and will deliver in due time, right!?

Fly; it's not something I would have thought about but after seeing what it did for my friend; I'm convinced. I was seeing one regularly with my last & it had to be the reason why she came so quick because I had a hard time pushing my son out but my daughter basically just popped out. I was induced; wasn't on pitocen long; maybe an hour; I asked for epi; Dr said too late; next thing I knew she was here. I had a lot of back issues with her which is why I went to chiro.

Hmm - but I think maybe she needs to have the three letter word that starts with s and ends with x. I was told to stay away from that as we were trying to keep the baby in until full term at 37 weeks (we made it to 36w4d). The male fluid can soften the cervix (guess sort of act like cervadil) and the O could start contractions.

if she wants to stay natural, but help things along, she might want to ask her gyn/midwife about stimulating her cervix...not sure 'exactly' what mine did, but it was done quickly during an exam with the fingers just around the edge of the cervix and that certainly did the trick with starting labor up with an already partially dilated cervix...

I was away all day, bought cute baby stuff on sale; she might be induced tomorrow, we're gearing up for it.

Have her go eat a big Mexican meal. Did that with the 1st two, 3rd was pizza...baby next day. #1 was 20 days late! #2 and #3 2 weeks late. But when they decided to come, they came FAST.

She thinks her labor has started, while she was having an ultrasound at the doctors earlier, we're waiting to see if there is a pattern and a continuance,
I'm waiting to call her after lunch if I don't hear from her before,
I'm so excited now that it's probably THE day.

Well!!???

Nothing yet ! her contractions are 9 minutes apart and not strong; the dr called her tonight and will induce her tomorrow morning, she has to report
at 6 a.m. at the hospital. I will go to their place at 5 a.m. to babysit the 7 year old and bring him to camp at 9. So the saga continues, I should be sleeping now but I am wide awake. I'm hoping things develop during the night.

Tomorrow is my daughters & Jackie O's birthday..

Hi !! I think she's a few hours away from delivering, my son's been texting me every few hours, I'm 10 minutes away from the hospital, at their home with my grandson.
Her contractions are every 3 / 4 minutes and much more intense.
So maybe 2 hours or 3 ? or 4? so hard to predict.

The plan is my daughter and I will bring their son to see the baby not too long after it's born.

A baby girl was born at 7 p.m. long labor , all is good. I just came home, it's midnight and I had to put her 7 year old brother to bed, I'll download picture tomorrow.

Great!!! Was her labor longer than with her first?? That would be very unusual, afaik. Hope big brother is over the moon with his new senior status -- 7 years is a nice space--old enough to avoid sibling rivalry, I imagine...Congratulations to all!

For the record, it's probably unusual but my second labor was longer than my first. First was 16 hours, second was 24 hours!!

Oops ......I goofed. Really what I meant is that boys are so special (as I now remember you well Know!), but a grandmother really needs a girl to dress, and later on go shopping with. Fun times head!
