After posting thought about the bud light for DH. It does have all the bells and whistles. Here is the sad story of what I have been using with my old stove. First of all none of the top burners would heat to a solid orange, but that was okay, I just cooked longer, well the self cleaning feature never worked, so twice a year I would have to clean it by hand. The straw that broke the camels back was that the bottom heating element went out and I couldn't figure out why it took 5 hours to make swiss steak. My neighbor's element went out and she asked me to borrow my oven. So I heated it up and realized that the heating element was out. So that was it, out shopping for appliances. It has a small bump on the top right which dropped the price from 480 dollars to what I paid 325 dollars and they delivered it 60 miles for 40 dollars and also took out the old stove.

Some features, the top of the range lifts off so it is easy to clean up spill overs. All of the burners are heavy duty and the trays below them are enamel just like the stove. It is an extra large oven with a self cleaning feature and a drawer underneath. Also I can set the temp on the oven all the way down to 170 so will be able to do some dehydrating of orange peels for potpouri without having to get the dehydrator our.

So I am one happy camper, I have a bun in the oven and will have some bread in my new oven.

Very Nice! I did not notice the small ding until you mentioned it. I have a GE (Profile) that I got 12 years ago and just love. I hope you love yours too! Mine does really low heat too, I never thought to use it for drying fruit peel. I use to hold cooked food until serving, stuff like pancakes, waffles, breaded pork tenderloin, anything where I would have to keep cooking while the family starts eating.

That's like the one we just got except we have the flat top. Our old one was from the 60's and when we moved we brought it with us (we just moved across the street for a bigger yard) and a neighbour came by to see the house and stayed for coffee and looked at our stove and said "I can't believe they left that stove behind for you." So, we told her it was actually ours, another sign we needed a new stove. I love it and you will be surprised how well things will cook, especially in the oven. It really is huge on the inside, isn't it. Happy cooking.

I see you got one with a large window - that's really helpful. I also picked out black for mine, which I think is not as bad for showing dirt, although I've been meticulous about keeping mine clean since I got it.

My old one didn't have a window and it always drove me nuts. When they told me that this one had the window I was sold. Rhiannon keeps opening up the oven and looking inside it. I told her she shouldn't do that because it may be hot. I think that she is just as excited as I am. I told her this is special stove and has a window and light and we can see what is inside without having to open up the door;)

Congrats to you! It looks beautiful. Sands, Lars was posted here a while ago and was a beauty also. I just got my Mom's yesterday and I'm really pleased with it. We also went with black as she didn't want stainless. We have gas. She's thrilled (with the new frig, range, over-the-range microwave and dishwasher).

Congrats on the new stove Stacie....also your "bun" in the oven! Just now trying to catch up with things in general. Wow, what a surprise/blessing for sure. I bought a new range about a year before I moved so I can relate to the excitment. It's in my garage as a back up for the big dinners/parties. Think I'll do my canning out there too to save on AC costs this summer.

Congrats on the new stove - and yes, it's a beauty! I also went for the black stove - my last one was stainless steel and black and I hated the SS part of it. (I didn't believe the "stainless" part.) I know exactly the bit about the "element that stopped working". We had similar, including a fire in the top oven. That was just one of the many reasons we got a new kitchen with a new range.

It's always fun to have something new when its important to you isn't it? I know you'll enjoy it. I have had GE's and am interested in how accurate your oven is. If you buy a decent oven temperature gauge let us know. My GE's always seem about 10 degrees low.
