Large lump dischaefged from my vagina

I weas douching the othe day in the shower and a large, grapefruit size viscous lump fell out. I picked it up and examined it (I am always intrigued about what is happening with my body, but have never had this happen before.

The mass, like I said was large and a sort of pliable, it kind of reminded me of "Slime", the toy from the 70's/80's where it was a big wad of gooey stuff that could roll through your fingers.

I have no idea what this is. I know I am not pregnant so this one perplexes me.

This is me shaking my head in disbelief. I don't know if you are seriously asking this question but, I'll answer as if you are.

If you can stomach picking the mass up and playing with it, you should have put it in a plastic bag and into the freezer until you could get in to see the doctor. I doubt anyone here can tell you what it was but I'm sure they will all agree that you need to be seen by a gynecologist to determine the problem. A grapefruit size lump is NOT normal.

Grapefruit size? I'm with Pris on this one.

What color was the substance? What did you do with it? Is there any residual substance remaining of the same type (meaning that it's still being produced)? If so, gently wipe with a Kleenex or something, bag it, and take it to your doctor. IMMEDIATELY!

This is what my friend's website says about taking offsets. I would say that there is a risk by removing the offsets, but if you treat all wounds properly with the tree paint, it is most likely that the mother plant would be fine.I have removed 100s of offsets and never killed a plant, and you have a better chance of doing it right in California than we have in Florida. Most Frequently Asked Questions How do I remove the offsets at the base of my sago, and what do I need to do grow them into plants? This is probably the question I get the most. I am going to describe the method I use. Most people do not have to go through as much trouble as this, but to make sure that every one has a good chance , it doesn't hurt to make sure to do it right. Cut all the leaves from the offset plants. If you do not cut the leaves off, they will draw moisture and energy out of the offset before it has a chance to produce roots. The secret to all this is the starch content in the offset. It can live on this starch until new roots are formed. This is another reason why the offset does not need to be watered like you would a cutting, I will get into that later. Remove all the soil from around the offsets. After I have removed most of the soil, I like to spray the area with water to wash off every bit of soil so I can see what I'm doing and also to keep everything as sterile as possible. Use a very sharp tool to remove the offsets from the main plant. Make sure to make a clean cut. Do not pull the offset off the main plant. Sometimes the offset will pull out a small, round piece of stem when you do this, and this makes a hole for fungus to get into. Also the more jagged the cut, the more there is a chance to have a place for fungus to get into. Sometimes I have to cut the offset again, once it is removed to make a cleaner, smoother cut. Tools that seem to work the best are very large knives, very sharp shovels, machetes, and if you remove offsets on a regular basis, there is nothing like a reciprocating saw, or otherwise known as a "sawsall." Once you have removed all the offsets, spray or brush the wounds of the offsets, as well as the wounds on the main plant, with a fungicide. I like to use Daconil. You can add a rooting hormone to the fungicide that you use on the offsets if you want. It seems to help a little. Once this has dried, I paint all the wounds with black tree paint, or also known as tree sealer. Once this has dried, the offsets are ready to plant, and the soil can be placed around the main plant once again. "Advanced method" If you have done this before, and are good at starting offsets, you can try this advanced method. When you cut the offset, the more area that is cut, the more roots that will be produced. Most offsets are attached to the main plant by a narrow attachment point, instead of the width of the entire offset. By making another larger cut on the offset you can get at least 5 times the roots. This larger cut also has a larger wound to heal, so it is better to get used to rooting offsets before you try this. This is where the tree paint comes in very handy. Now that you are ready to plant the offsets, place the offsets in containers with the cleanest sand you can find. I use course builder's sand. Any organic material can increase the chance of fungus getting into the offsets. Some people use pumice, or perlite, instead of sand. I try to place an offset in a container that is close to the diameter of the offset. I put the small ones in a community pot. Place the containers in the shade, the sun can dry out the offsets if it is too extreme. The most important thing to remember is that there are no roots or leaves on these offsets. They don't lose very much moisture, and can't take very much up without roots. This means that you don't water these offsets like you would a regular plant, or a cutting. Moisten the offsets maybe once a week or once every other week just to keep them from desiccating. The offsets live from the starch contained in them so there is no need to treat them like cuttings. The offsets will root in faster if it is warm, but even during the warm months, it may take up to 8 months to root in and produce leaves. Once the offsets are fully rooted you can plant them in your normal medium, and put them out in your growing area.

welcome to the down under ... i tend to go to the systemic extreme ... on a VALUABLE plant ... i would recommend just getting rid of a euonomys [WAG for sure] ... they are a plague on such [scale in general] ...... and not worth harming mother earth ... when THINKING about chemicals.. you MUST start with a plant ID ... then a bug ID ... and then discuss ALL the remedies .. including removal of the plant ... i mean really .. is it worthwhile to spend $20 to 'save' a plant you can buy or replace for $10???? pic of plant and scale please ... ken ps: a month or so back we had a post from AU.. on some bush i never heard of.. that was being swallowed by scale.. anyone recall that plant.. piggley wiggley or something down under-ish??? lol ...

Many thanks to pbx2 for posting those articles....so much to think about. I truly trust my Amish crew, but the contractor wants to use expensive products.....so I may have to ask ways that we can cut some of the costs. I really miss DH at these times...since he was an architect/contractor and we "thought" he would be taking care of our new build and now I am left alone to do it by myself. He had planned to act as our GC in our new build and pick out and arrange for all materials that we used. He had many contractor contacts, so we could have saved a lot of money, but now he is gone and the business has closed. All of your responses are appreciated, even if I do not understand them all. I get angry at the person who sold that condo right out from under me just because I asked for a mold inspection, and left me stuck with this decision to build. There is nothing there to buy and this house is sold, so I must find somewhere to live other than stay with my friend very long.

Yes, this is a serious post, and I figured it out. My doctor has me on the Pill continuously, never taking the placebos so I haven't had a period in over 12 years. What the stuff was is the accumulation of ovulation (sans egg, of course) that just collected and all came out in one lump. Now, thinking back, I haven't had the discharge in several months, so this makes sense.

The color was like Vaseline, an opaque yellow, but the doctor said it was fine and if I have any more problems to call her.

Okay, maybe the fruit size was wrong, perhaps a medium orange or small grapefruit.

Thank you for your concern and help, I really appreciate it and will post back if I find anything else out.

Sooo happy you talked to the Doc. I would never have guessed that one. Actually, I've not heard about never stopping the pill at least periodically. Every few months or so but then I haven't had to concern myself with it in a good while. 12 years. Really? I'm surprised your doctor didn't warn you of this possibility. But then, I wouldn't have remembered if they had after 12 years.

I have mishapen ovaries and periods for me are like someone cutting me open with a rusty butter knife. It is the most horrible pain I have ever experienced (I don't have children so I can't compare that) but it was either do a hysterectomy or do the Pill trial, the pain was a full blown 10 on the pain scale. This was still in study stage back then and for me it was the perfect answer. No PMS, no period, no pain.

I am seeing my doctor Monday for my yearly exam, so if anything is out of the ordinary now I will let you know. Thanks for your concern!

Maybe it's time to consider having your ovaries removed. Since they aren't functioning because of the pill, they won't be missed.

I think that this type of surgery can be done with laparoscopic incisions now. Tiny incisions, tiny scars.

I disagree, agnespuffin. Removing her ovaries would cause hormonal problems that are irreversible. Possibly throwing her into premature menopause. Leaving in the ovaries is the reason for partial hysterectomies. It eliminates the need for hormone replacement therapy after removing the uterus. HRT is not only for hot flashes and menopausal symptons. Estrogen also protects your bones and heart. Why mess with that at her age and chance brittle bones and heart problems at an early age?

I am with Pris on this one, I have hypothyroidism and my hormones are so messed up to begin with. We are finally balancing them with Synthroid and I don't want to have a procedure I don't need if there is a tiny pill I can take daily that will do the same thing without disrupting my hormonal balance.

When I see the doctor Monday I will ask but last time we visited this option we both agreed it wasn't in my best interest. Thanks though!

Upsetting your hormones isn't the only thing a hysterectomy can do. You could get a blood clot in your lungs, and after that, no hormones at all. I have lived with this situation for 33 years. Premature menopause is hell. I'm 77 now and still having hot flashes.

My gyn told me to hang on to my uterus and ovaries,I need them..They do more than you know.old dr agnes up there..

Old dr. agnes is 81 years old and knows many many women that had ovaries or uterus removed. Sometimes it's the better choice. Agnes had hers out at the age of 40. It improved her life about 95%

Agnes also worked for a Gynocologist practice for years. Artificially stopping the menstual cycle for years can cause problems too. Some doctors do not agree. If you happen to have one that thinks it OK, fine! Time will tell if she is right.
