Oh wow thank you all! So many options for the blue boy! I do think a lumbar pillow is the best option. @salonva the chair is a little big for the corner I know. But I am happy with it there. @Donna T the artist is Kanayo Ede. He has an Etsy shop I believe-I purchased through Robert Kent gallery in Georgia. Here it is full frame. Loverly. Here is Mary (from the Christmas song “Mary Did You Know”). She reflects in that mirror as I exit my bedroom straight in front of the chair. She is from artist Dan Campbell. I’m off to look at some fabulous pillows! Thanks again!

I wouldn't put anything tall there. I would do something like this. Use a low Perennial that works in your area. I used a Dianthus and drew ovals for two more. I'm not sure I would plant anything in the more narrow part of the planter with the Rose. I remember this is your mother's garden and she is not able to do as much as she once did. It would be fine with just mulch. I also think I mentioned last time that the wall is attractive and does not need to be hidden. I grow and recommend Perovskia and Salvia leucantha. Both can get larger than people seem to imagine when they plant them. My Perovskia is cultivar Blue Steel which is meant to be smaller but I'm waiting to find how tall it will get. In general it is not good to have a lot of singletons.

(Hard to find much on this — ) BROKEN GLASS (Claudia Schmidt) I was walking through the broken glass last night and thought of you, and I wondered where your reckless ways had brought you to? My memories of you whorled me back to boilin' blood and wrath, and I wonder if you've stumbled on a lighter path? Did you go out to the desert with the sun hot overhead? Did the dry and the dusty heat make you wish you were dead? Or, did the stark and the open spaces ease your urge to roam? Did it make you feel at last like you were home? Or, did you go out to the woods where the silver poplars sing? Did the quiet rustlin' take away the city's sting? Did the white birds like suspended lightning strike the autumn glow, and touch your heart with tenderness so you could grow? I was walking through the broken glass last night and thought of you, and I wondered where your reckless ways had brought you to? A fiery mass of untapped power surgin' in your breast, I hope it found its way outside so you could rest! Or, did you go up to the mountains where the air is clear and cold? Did they give you back your tears; save you from growing old? As hands and feet fought gravity all up the ancient wall, I wonder, did you lose your ancient urge to fall? The last time I saw you, you were strung dangerously high. All your movements stiff and frightened and you could not cry; suspicious of an honest mile, and looking for a fight; the lonesome street your home, your only friend the night. Now, wherever you may be tonight, I hope you're pleased and calm; that the air around you soothes you like a holy balm; that your lonely anger hasn't turned your insides inside out; that you found the place some of us still dream about. I was dancing through the broken glass last night and thought of you, and I wondered where your reckless ways had brought you to? All my memories of you whorled me back to boilin' blood and wrath, and I wonder if you've stumbled on a lighter path? Oh I hope, perhaps, you have stumbled on a lighter path! And, a live performance at a small venue (accoustics of that venue are lousy, but Claudia’s spirit is strong. I love this song and it played a lot in the early 1980s. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hdmp_XuSC00

Of course you can replace the black cabinet and I particularly like the one below suggested by @Maureen However, should you decide to keep it you can see the visual below where I stage the inside of the cabinet with all white items, show decor on top and a tall plant in the corner by the window. I would replace the chandelier with a black one (no brass) and suspend it at so that the bottom of the chandelier is 30 to33 inches above the table top. I also suggest you replace the blinds with fabric roman shades (in black & cream, can be linear or pattern) for a warmer look.
