where can I find deodorant for 7 year olds. My gran daughter gets a little musty when she go out and play.

Hi,

One of the best products I have found for a deodorant product that would be good for anyone including your little one is something called ProSeed Anti-fungal foot powder. It may also be listed as Seed A Sept. I know that sounds like a strange thing to use, but the package information says it also makes an excellent anti-fungal body powder. It is an all natural product, with the main ingredients being grapfruit seed extract; which is an anti bacterial, and slippery elm; which I understand to be an absorber of moisture. I really prefer to use this over any of the commercial products, since it doesn't or hasn't caused any irritation like the aluminum based products do.
Plus, the odor is very pleasant and woodsy. Even my wife found it to solve her deodorant problems.

It's a little expensive, but I think it is worth it.

Maryland - Shasta Daisys (blooming) were ignored right next to perennial black-eyed-susans which were literally mowed down (just before blooming) in one garden. On the other side of the house, both were mowed down to the ground; both were JUST before buds opened; I think they prefer the young greenery. Once the flowers are open, they might be safer from deer. Really pointy hollies they leave alone (so far) but any hollies without the stickers, they eat them, especially new growth. Invasives? They ate a fence full of Virginia Creeper, but only on one side of the fence--of course, the side we get to look at. Daffodils? They don't eat them, just bite off the buds and spit them out. Hyacinths have been untouched. Marigolds? They just pull them out of the ground, then spit them out to dry up and die. Forget about the hydrangeas and daylillies. I've seen them eat the neighbor's barberry bushes, thorns and all. My barberries, they just step on and break. Iris goes untouched. Coral bells survive some nibbling. Periwinkle groundcover survives unless they pull it out. Most of my neighbors have arborvitae--there's a contest for the best "deer topiary." I'm trying some ferns now, some wild from our woods, some purchased. The nursery had a sale for "a buck a piece" but I hope that doesn't mean they are FOR the bucks. I know, lame joke. Motion activated lights? The deer look happier, oh thank you, now they can see what they are eating! Motion activated water? Oh, thank you, what a nice bath. Motion activated sound? Oh, thank you, piped in music. Barking dogs? Oh, don't worry, they can't get out. Coyote urine? Oh, just eat around it, there are starving children in the next county. My hairdresser gave me a bag of hair cuttings to try. One of her customers swears by it. Didn't help my poor hydrangea, though. Maybe I'll try tying little mesh bags full. The hydrangea has become the "deer test" for many supposed deterrents. None have worked so far. BlueBars

Asolo, I am not planning to stay eight months, I am LEAVING sooner than you think I thought that this forum was supposed to supportive and non judgmental. I thought wrong, I shared my trouble to help guide me into the right direction, sorry that I shared. I do know how to write a paragraph, I just did not focus on grammar and the correct format my passage should be. I am sorry that my husband has taken everything else away from me and I am trying to hold onto something that is dear to me that will make my children�s life better financially! I have plan�s on talking to women shelters to see if I can still pursue my degree because I am so closed to finishing!! I have only taken one picture of my child�s arm and this is so that I have proof!!! I want to make sure that my husband will never be allowed to have custody of them, NEVER!!! So I am trying everything in my power to get out of here and have proof to protect my children�s FUTURE!!!! One sink, two sink, red sink, blue sink

DH and I have two sinks, and we are fortunate that we each have a bank of two (deep) drawers in addition to a cabinet under each sink and two medicine cabinets. DH keeps most of his stuff on the little bit of counter between the sink and wall (leaving his two drawers more or less empty) most of mine is in my drawers and medicine cabinet. So in that way, I guess I like having two sinks because his stuff is rarely in my way. But I have to clean two sinks, two faucets:( I suppose if we had a shallow drawer in addition to our deep drawers, the counter would be clearer. The boys have two sinks, one bank of 3 drawers, one medicine cabinet, and a good-sized linen closet. They NEVER use the sink closest to the door. Door closed, it's claustrophobic and elbow-endangering. Opened, you're practically outside the bathroom. Oh, except that, since that's where the outlet is, they used it for the water pik when they had braces. It just gets dusty because it doesn't get wiped out every day between weekly cleanings. The medicine cabinet is above that outlet, far from the sink they use, so it just holds the rarely-used things like hair gel and astringent. So there's lots of of storage space, just not the right KIND of storage. They could really use another bank of drawers instead of a second sink, especially another shallow drawer for combs, toothpaste, Chapstick, orthodontic wax, you know, those little things. More counter space, with easier access to the outlet and medicine cabinet. Now, when the older one is home from university, his stuff takes over the middle of the counter, which already has a small tray holding toothbrush holder, cup, and clock. The only time they have ever been in there at the same time was when their morning schedules were such that the one in the shower was instructed to leave the door unlocked so the other could brush and dash out to the bus. I can only imagine if we had a girl. Make-up and hair stuff and angst, oh my! When they were tots in the previous house, they happily used one sink. (The storage in that one was abysmal: about a 30 " inch vanity with sliding doors below. All it could hold was bath toys, an extra roll of toilet paper, a roll of paper towels, and a tub scrubber. We replaced with same size but one cabinet and a bank of 3 drawers, and a medicine cabinet. Just in time for the added accoutrements of orthodontia) So far, storage and counter space seems to trump dual sinks for kids, and sometimes for the grown-ups, too!

I just went to website you recommended. I never heard of this company, but I think I will try the foot powder for my feet. They itch a lot when I wear black socks in my boots. Thanks for the help.

Quite a few children have a funky musty odor. I had one son that I swear was born smelling stinky.

One reason can be that she is not drinking enough fluids to washing out waste products in her urine and it comes out in her sweat. Encourage her to drink more water.

There is a deodorant powder...."Shower to Shower" that uses baking soda. It is quite good and it doesn't put any chemical anti-persperants on her skin.

But the most important is daily baths and clean clothes. With little girls that age, it's also a chance that she's not wiping herself when she used the toilet.

go organic. eat organic buy organic and get clean with simple baths- dont use heavy chems on kids. the body skin is an organ, treat it with respect, allow it to not get poisoned with all these commerical products that in the wild would kill most other animals. And people are of the animal kingdom and need to get back to basics sometimes to stay balanced.

The food one eats is about most of the problem. Go organic and save her life instead of feeding her food processed with cides and presevatives.

I am with the bath and clean clothes crowd. Children don't need deodorants, powder or otherwise until puberty. If she's playing hard enough to get a little musty, that is a good thing.

Maybe it is the detergent or fabric softener reacting with her skin. The perfumes in them can smell differently on peolple, just like regular perfume can smell wonderful on some and stink on others.

I tackle the musty smell in DD's school clothes by using white vinegar as fabric softener, and using only the recommended amount of detergent to launder the clothes.

If you use too much detergent the water will never rinse clean. Also the vineger ensures that the soiled smell and soap gets completely rinsed clean.

Kids should start using deodorant whenever they need to. However, be very careful about the deodorant you choose. Find a deodorant that has no Aluminum, Parabens, or Propylene Glycol.
