How do I post a slideshow?

I have a slideshow a friend put together and I want to post it. But I don't know how. I can't seem to get the slideshow to load on photobucket or Webshots, so I'm assuming those won't hold the format. What do I do?

Thanks.

Where do you want to post? If on your website, just create the slideshow as an antimated GIF. Plenty of software available free to make those.

If you want to post a slideshow on the GardenWeb forums, please don't. Those users with dial-up have a hard enough time with single images, and a slideshow will bring their browsers to a crawl or crash them out of the site altogether.

The proper way would be to host the slideshow on your own site and offer a link to it, explaining what it was so users on dial-up can decide if they want to try to view it.

Thank you Spewey. I think I've done it correctly, but it doesn't seem to let anyone view it. I can view and I know of another person that could view it, but no one else. I uploaded it onto Streamload that has a link to the slideshow. Maybe Streamload was not the way to go. ???

Thanks.

How do I post to my trade list ? I forgot how?
Q
Comments (12)
When I had seeds to trade, I posted on the Seed Exchange forum. I made sure my trade list was up-to-date. If someone was interested in trading with me, they contacted me via email. As with other gardening objectives, it makes sense to define your goals--decide how you want to trade (i, e, postage, address labels, envelopes) and put that out there on GW. List the seeds you have to trade on your trade list, then post what seed types you've got available on the Seed Exchange forum. I "shopped" for seeds on the Seed Exchange forum a couple of years until I filled my garden beds. I kept the seed exchange information (i.e., names & addresses of folks with whom I traded) on an Excel spreadsheet so I'd have it for future reference. Common sense rule of thumb is be sure you get return postage prior to mailing seeds.

OK, Emma, how do I reset FF so I can reply to posts?

Just a question before you reset... Prompted by this thread: http://ths.gardenweb.com/forums/load/comphelp/msg1217510723913.html Did you happen to do the "image block" mentioned by Zep516 in this post? If so, you'll have to undo that because the new "Preview" button used for replying is no longer an "HTML button", but an image. So if you're blocking images from "graphics.gardenweb.com", you won't see the new yellow/gold "Preview" button. If that doesn't apply to you, the reset function is found under "Help>Troubleshooting Infomation". Edit: This reply is kinda obsolete now because the "Preview" button is no longer an image, but an actual HTML button once again. :) This post was edited by chuggerguy on Mon, Mar 24, 14 at 10:46
