I read where you told dcrowex how to get her images to show up. I am having some sort of problem also, although mine does follow thru with images in the address. I have about had it with getting this thing going. My photos are fuzzy and this time when I was changing some of them it all looked good and I waited almost 45 minutes to publish again and then this morning it was missing many of my new photos that I had just added. How can I improve this site?????? I am one of a very few who do this kind of work personally and not ordered overseas. Any critisisam would be great. And also a couple of months back you told me I could ad my site to the search engines myself and you would tell me. I really would like that info as well. I may just get it out there anyway with fuzzy photos and all. I also want to ad Pay Pal to the site for checkout. Will this require me to know code?? If so I am doomed there as well as I used yahoo site builder and it does it for you.. Thanks for any help.......

Connie, I just checked your website and all the pictures are there except one for Wall Decor. I can't really tell about the quality of the photos because I'm using my work computer and pictures never show up real clear on it. I will check tonight from home where I have a great monitor.

Check out this webpage at PayPal, PayPal on your website. It explains about putting the PayPal buttons on your site. You will probably have to put an HTML code in your page, but it shouldn't be too hard. I'm not familiar with yahoo site builder, but they probably have an option to insert HTML. In that case you would copy the HTML from PayPal and then insert it at Yahoo.

Click here to Submit your website to Google. Then go to the home page of other search engines and they should have a link to where you can submit your site.

If I can help some more just let me know.

I can see 6 pictures on your main page. I was just thinking that maybe you added more without the name tag. I could only see one name tag without a picture.

Uptown Gal, I clearly stated that ALL levels of education are important. And I admire people who have the determination to go through the rigor of getting a degree. The whole of my immediate family,save my mother and myself,have bachelors degrees and some have masters. Their work is important. So is mine. I was responding to a post on which not having a degree or making a ton of money was being equated to not having basic job skills or any pride in one's work. Perhaps you missed that one. And I was giving examples of personal experience in which people surely thought themselves better than I or others simply because they have a higher education. I say this because THEY SAID THIS. The girl that is in my department says ALL THE TIME that she is overqualified because of her degree. She also says that if our department were ever eliminated (where THAT came from I dont know) she thinks the company would find her another position within the company, because she has a a degree, but she doesn't know what the rest if us will do. Even the man who needed HELP was spouting about the "slow idiots who don't know how to make a tire." I wonder if he does.... The "no common sense " comment was referring to the man who could not or would not make the connection between an infestion of a rodent and removing it's natural predator. Not you or anyone else except the person I was talking about. I do not know you and so was not talking about you and I am not sure why you think I was. I gave 3 examples of 3 specific people. And I never claimed to be more intelligent than anyone. Not sure I am the one with an anger problem. Schoolhouse, it really doesn't matter if you believe me. That doesn't change the fact that i have to deal with this headache in a mail jeep. I wish it did. If you think I am a troll then refrain from engaging with me.

Always get rid of weeds and try to keep up with them. If any go seed, then you will automatically have 100 or 1,000 times more, making the whole process harder. There are various ways of getting rid of them from carefully spraying (if you are able to do it. smothering with cardboard and mulch, and hand pulling. (If you don't get the roots, your not pulling, but pruning ... helping weeds to be more well branched.) Once weeds are gone. a regularly scheduled application of Preen can help. Still, keeping them away requires vigilance and quick response. One might ask if it worth the bother, but once weeds are no longer in existence and producing thousands of seeds, and groundcovering plants are filling in thickly, there comes a time where weeds are not too much problem any more and hand pulling will take care of them. Recently, at a nearby construction project, some "mountains" of topsoil were hauled in and stockpiled for future use. When dumped, it was nothing but plain soil. Two weeks later, I noticed that ALL of it was covered with a green haze of newly sprouted weeds. It does not take long at all for weeds to assert themselves over the bare land.

coray is so right! And I will add to coray, I suggest not have lamps on the night stands at all, but having sconces affixed to the wall next to the bed. This solves several problems. This avoids having a bulky lamp on the night table, especially important when you may need to get a smaller bedside table due to the size of your room. You can get the type of wall sconce that has an adjustable height, so it will work well as a reading light for people sitting up in bed even if one is 6'3" and the other is 5'3", and will work no matter the height of the bed as well. Some of these wall sconces are plug in so you don't even need to call the electrician, and you can get the cord cover if you don't like the look of the cord. Re secretary: I do not advise getting a vintage secretary with drop-down desk with hutch to use as a work surface. When one works, one tends to lean on the desk with the weight of ones arms or elbows. Secretaries are just not made to take that weight, and the hardware holding the drop-down leaf will break off the secretary or worse, the wood of either the wooden leaf or the secretary will be significantly damaged. And fine craftsmen who know how to repair this are very hard to find. Furthermore, why is there any need for a hutch in a guest bedroom? That bed room is too small, a large piece of furniture like that will only make the room look smaller. If you need a place to store extra towels, get a hotel towel rack for the bathroom like this- You said that your son and GF will be coming for extended stays, so they need a place to keep their clothing. That is a very big closet. I would put in a closet system like ELFA to accommodate their clothing with racks and shelves, etc. so that you do not need a dresser at all in that room. (You will have 2 night stands with drawers.) This way you will have space for a small work table and chair for them. Another thought is to ask them how much time they will actually be needing a surface for their laptop. Can your desk go to the left of the fridge where dining table is now? If it’s just you and your son maybe replace current DR table with a smaller and standard height (29”) and round dining room table? If you replaced your current table with a smaller round one, say 30-32” diameter, it could “float” in the space behind the desk (if desk is against wall, left of fridge). Though somewhat unconventional many kitchens do have a built in desk, (this would mimic that) and with small apartments creativity is essential to use space efficiently. If this worked you’d have more breathing room around sofa and could keep fish tank in LR. If replacing DR chairs as small scale as you can that’s still comfortable for adult you.

On the main page the bottom left side picture is missing.It was there prior to redoing it so don't have a clue to where it went... Yes thats the ones missing on the room accessories page. Also one of the beds on the right didn't even bother to reappear,, ha ha then on the table and chair sets the top pictures are missing as well. I will redo it tonight and see but do let me know if they are any better at home. Also do you think it is too plain of a background? I do but from everything I read it says to go plain but on childrens things I think it should be fun. I had it that way real cute the first upload and then the second took it off. I read on the Truely Texas design site that it should be plain but how would they know right???? Thanks and I will wait to hear back from you

I saw where you helped someone with submitting URL to Google. Have you suggestions on how to submit to other search engines or where to find a list of search engines to submit to? Do some charge for doing this? Thanks MaryAnne

I too am in need of that info. I went to yahoo to submit and there isnt anywhere where you do it yourself or its just so hidden.. Google is the only one that I have and have not done that yet. I redid some of my stuff like changed the background color and some pictures. My biggest problem is that when you double click on some of my items to enlarge then, which by the way I didn't do that in the begining, the click thing so haven't a clue how to fix that. They are HUGEEEEE I can find no where to resize them in my tool bar or by right clicking and going to properties. This is a tuff thing when you are trying to do it yourself. I hosted with Yahoo and then they make you pay to submit. I don't get it. I am already paying them for the domain, the site, which I have been paying for, for months and not even had a site to view. Till now. Any help from anyone would help us both and Thanks to MaryAnn for your info.

I have posted another heading " Need help and advice" Maybe we'll get some replies under that which may help us. I am completely new at this too.
I have problems also when I try to log into this site and then can't find a posting that was here before. It doesn't always come up showing the same postings. I don't know what I am doing wrong there iether.

I know that it is not the right forum on the computer help, but I think we might get noticed on it better. This web authoring site seems to be real slow and we need help some where soon...ha ha. What do you think?

I think most search engines give you an option to submit your site to them. If you go to Yahoo.com, at the bottom of the page is a link that says How to Suggest a Site. Click on it and then click on Submit Your Site for Free. I think it says you have to register, but it's free. At altavista.com, click on Directory, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Submit a site and there are instructions there.

The search engines will eventually pick up your site if you have used meta tags, etc. in your html.

What are Meta tags? Since I used a site builder that does it for you, or converts it for you do you think they did it, how can I check for that. By the way thanks a ton for all the info. Since I talked to you last I have changed backgrounds and found a way to change the size of the pictures although some seem to change back. Just really wanted a cute background but do not know how to put that in and Yahoo doesnt offer things cute for kids things.
