Absolutely! Every browser I know has an option to not view pictures. I don't know what program or version you're using, but my (relatively updated) Internet Explorer has it under Tools-->Internet Options-->Advanced (tab) and then you scroll down to the "Multimedia" section and uncheck the box marked "Show pictures". In Firefox it's slightly easier: go to Tools-->Options-->Content (tab) and uncheck the box marked "Load images automatically". Your program may vary somewhat, but it should be very similar.

Sorry about the snake pics ladies! I feel that way too about several things on there....ugh. Never want to see pictures of RATS either....lol. But I truly thought that site was great. I spent a long time looking through it trying to figure out what kinds of wild trees or shrubs keep coming up in my yard. And I learned a lot about catapillars from there and other sights yesterday so I won't kill so many butterflies from now on. I hope I have not killed many ever! I have not seen so many of those kinds really....but moth cats, larvae and pupa have been plentiful. I will be referring to that sight often...it is so informative! The label says it has 512 MB of memory. I'm not sure which memory this is referring to, but if it is the RAM on the motherboard, it could use an upgrade. Windows XP likes to have 2 Gigabyte (2 GB) or more. You are using a wireless router on a DSL sevice. Make sure that your wireless router is secured so that someone else within range can't horn in and ride piggyback on your connection for free. The more computers using the connection, the slower it gets for any one computer. The next potential bottle neck is the DSL service. If this is over a phone line, it may not be a large jump in speed over a standard dial-up service. A good connection does have marked improvement in speed, but a troublesome connection looses much speed advantge. Consider taking the computer to a shop or friend and try on their lines. Another problem, if over a phone line, is a noisy line. Thw phone company can test your phone line for quality. Make sure that you tell the technicam that this line will be used for internet service. If over a phone line, another bottleneck can be the phone company. It may not have installed equipemnt capable of high speed data transfer. If you have a friend who has a high speed cable connection with a wireless router, you may want to try your computer on his connection. Have the computer checked out at a computer shop to discover if it is the computer or the DSL service to your house.

Hi Connie, I'm no expert on this, but I am in somewhat the same situation as you are. I have a website tht I paid someone to design for me. They registered the domain name that I wanted. I, also, need to make frequent changes, but when I asked the designer about this, she said that I would have to go through her each time. I found that unacceptable, so I decided I'd better learn how to do it myself. My ISP, Earthlink, gives me some free web space, so I figured I'd use that to practice and, when I got it down, I'd tackle the paid site. However, on the free space, they assign you the address, you don't pick it. Mine is http://earthlink.net/~johnson29/. Yours would probably be something like http://aol.com/~sprtn185/. To get SpoiltRottn.com, you would have to register that domain. You will have to pay to register, and for someone to host your site. Prices for this vary. Do a Google search for web hosting, or domain registration, and I'm sure you'll find quite a few. I use Netscape Page Composer to create the pages. It's easy to use, and free. I then use WS-FTP to upload the pages to the web site. WS-FTP is also free, and they have a tut on how to use it. You will, then, "fill in the blanks" on WS-FTP with the information you will get from the hosting company, and it'll be on the internet.
