Hello everyone.

I was net surfing and I found this wonderful web sight with pictures and Identifactions to all sorts of plants, trees and insects. There are lots of wild life photos with charts showing what plants they live on and what are their prey and predators.

I know you all will LOVE this sight!

You did notice of course that the 'founder' of Garden Brain is Dominic Paul Masiello.......see the connection to our OP?? This is just another blatant attempt at self-promotion very poorly disguised as Joe Gardener having difficulty picking out plants. So Dominic - do you really have all that trouble picking out plants with a BS in Landscape Architecture?? If so, how in the world can you justify anyone visiting your website and paying YOU to do just that?? Do you really think we're all that stupid that we couldn't see through this?

moontime, I need some sunshine. I realy like the article, JOSEPH ORR'S FABULOUS "MUD HEAT-STORAGE" SOLAR GREENHOUSE. I'm sirously thinking about giving it a wirl. It's to bad the article doesn't have more detail. 6ft x 30 roof collector? Is it like a solar water heater. Heating air instead of water. How much soil between the loops of pipe. Ect Ect.......... That's easy to tell, even if you don't read Czech: several of their original WBs were given the cultivar name Holub, as you can see in the photo captions. Specifically, according to this excerpt from the web site, "V soucastnosti jiÂ mÃ¡me vyÂlechteno kolem 70 nÃ¡mi nalezenÃ½ch carovejnÃkÃ¹, z nichÂ bezesporu nejznÃ¡mejÂÃ je Thuja Occidentalis Malonyana Holub.color>" ...which translates to "currently we have about 70 WBs in cultivation that were discovered by us, from which the undisputed best known is Thuja Occidentalis Malonyana Holub".

Thanks but someone should have warned about the lovely snakes posted. I JUMPED off the chair my phobias are showing. Nice post and website. I will go back and hurriedly pass the snake section.

Sorry about the snake pics ladies! I feel that way too about several things on there....ugh. Never want to see pictures of RATS either....lol.

But I truly thought that site was great. I spent a long time looking through it trying to figure out what kinds of wild trees or shrubs keep coming up in my yard.
And I learned a lot about catapillars from there and other sights yesterday so I won't kill so many butterflies from now on. I hope I have not killed many ever! I have not seen so many of those kinds really....but moth cats, larvae and pupa have been plentiful.

I will be referring to that sight often...it is so informative! I was just amazed to come across something so thorough as that one is.

The snakes didn't bother me at all, but the close up of the head of a bald-faced hornet is HORRIFYING! I'm not a bee/wasp lover to begin with. Slowly over the years, I have become accustomed to working around the honeybees and bumble bees because I know they only want to obtain pollen from the plants, but wasps, and even the cicada killer still freak me out!

Great site, BTW!
