Many years ago while stationed in Germany with the Air Force I suffered severe sinus headaches. One day while at the base hospital I mentioned it to the Flight Surgeon and he showed me a simple mechanical procedure that proves to provide more relief than all the medications I have ever tried. Take your finger tip and feel on the back of your head at the base of your skull about half way between your spine and the back of your ear. You will feel a slightly pointy bone projection on the base of the skull. Place two finger tips directly under that pointy spot on each side of your head and press in firmly and rotate your fingers to message that spot. After messaging it vigorously for about 30 seconds place your finger tips over the sinus cavities on your forhead, fingers near the outer end of your eyebrows, press firm and draw your fingers inward toward the center of your forhead. Repeat that process two or three times and instantly you will feel drainage and pressure releaving in your sinuses. and the headache will generally go away. It might sound silly, but don't laugh till you try it. it is now forty years later and I still rely on that method before I reach for a pill bottle.

Mammie, Whidbey, it's some form of cluster headache that I've been labeled with! Again I will say that I've come to the conclusion that doctors don't have a firm grasp of what causes this or how to treat it. To those who have no experience with this let me say that you wish you could point to a fractured leg or blood gushing from a gash in your body because there isn't any outward signs. The pain and may I say embarrassment are yours alone. Yeah, I said embarrassing. I can recognize the danger zones now but there was a time at the beginning where I hit the floor (sitting) right in the middle of the grocery store isle before I knew what was coming. The vertigo, the pain, the overwhelming pressure and feeling that you are gone! Right then, right there. Yeah, embarrassing. katlan, you are statistically spot on. The first thing my physician does on my visits (scheduled yearly physical, nothing special) is talk about these cluster headaches. More specifically, what my mental state is. He was very forthright when it became clear what I was dealing with. Suicide is the #1 cause of death and at this point he's more on top of that than anything else. I'm not the suicide type personality at all and after a few years my doctor (I think) is comfortable about that. I would be hiding something if I didn't write these final few sentences. I didn't always speak so openly about my headaches. As a man I felt that it showed a weakness or a physical failure of some sort. Now when I see others voicing similar challenges I speak up. It's so much more than pain. It can be frightening, demoralizing and even with a wonderful and supportive spouse at times you can feel very alone. You aren't alone and you aren't a fake, a freak or anything of the kind. Play the cards you were dealt and always remember that whatever episode you are in? Well, that one will end too. :)

I have had both the Sharp convection microwave and the Wolf speed oven. We had 5 Sharp convection microwave units over the course of 3 years. When the fifth unit stopped working (control panel - $1,500 repair) and our extended warranty was up, we finally threw in the towel and ditched Sharp for a Wolf speed oven. The cabinet was customized for the Sharp but our Wolf dealer was able to get a matching stainless filler piece custom made so the Wolf unit fits nicely. Yes, the control panel on the Wolf is harder to see but at least the Wolf unit works which is more than I can say for the five Sharp units we had. Sharp customer service was horrible. The few times we have needed service for our other Wolf/Subzero appliances, customer service was great.

i fix equinox headgaskets. i got one last week. idled ok. no bad sounds. i pulled heads. did gaskets. put it back together and now i have a noticeable valve train knock. not ”bad” but more then before. i saved old oil but cant really do a viscosity check. could oil be issue? its a 2008 3.4 motor. timing chain. not an ecotec motor. just a old school 2.8/3.1/3.4 version.
