How to treat migraine without aura (common migraine)

I know I've read this before, but I recently re-learned that the vast majority of so-called sinus headaches are common migraines. (Apparently most countries in the world don't recognize anything called a sinus headache, and neither does the International Headache Society.)

Now, I also suffer from migraine with aura, and have a triptan medication (Imitrex) for them that works well. I tried it for the headaches that I always thought were sinus headaches, and it worked for them, too, so I guess they really are migraines. (I used to take allergy and sinus medication, which I now learn just causes more headaches, and didn't really work well anyway.)

But Imitrex is expensive, and I really can't afford to use it 3-4 days a week for months at a time. I was just wondering what other common migraine sufferers use to treat their headaches. I do have an appointment to see the doctor, but it's not for a couple of weeks. Just thought I might be able to get some relief and not use all my Imitrex.
