Website hosting problems, please help! :)

Greetings!

I hope someone, anyone, can help me. I'm desperate. I was hosting my site over at godaddy.com and decided to switch to Homestead.com So I made the necessary changes at godaddy to just park my site there until I received the DNS info from Homestead. Well.....Homestead tells me they don't have DNS numbers perse but that I have to, and I quote:

Add www.mydomainname.com IN CNAME websites.homestead.com

Okay, So I wrote godaddy and asked them where I should type this in and they told me where to type it in but that if there were any problems after that, they couldn't help me. Well, there's a problem. My registrar isn't pointing to my domain at homestead.

Is anyone familiar with this and/or have you ever had to do it and if so, can you please give me some insight? I'm so peeved I'm ready to blow my brains out. I paid enough $$ to both sites that I can't believe either one won't help me. I want my domain over at Homestead because I'm html illiterate and I love Homestead's website builder - it's so easy and amazing. If you are in the know and can help, I would greatly appreciate it!! Thanks!!!

Let me see if I understand. You are using Homestead to host your website, and you have your domain name registered through GoDaddy.com. Is that right?
If so, all you need to do is log into your account with godaddy and in the correct area (where they told you) type in the exact address of your homestead website.

Have you tried the free url forwarding at godaddy in the meantime?

Shady Oaks is very reputable. I've not purchased eggs or livestock from them but have purchased a good amount of larval host plants to attract certain butterflies to my yard. Perhaps the project can include growing the larval host of a couple of butterflies and then the children could learn about conservation and how and what to plant to attract the native species. Seems it would be better in the long run if a patch of milkweed (Monarch), cudweed (Painted Lady) or passiflora (various fritillaries) or some other native larval host were planted to ensure they will keep coming back. Horrors! I would never have pop ups or any time of advertisement. Yucch...those are for dot coms. Though some .orgs and .edus do have them, I personally feel they don't belong on educational websites. You can always Google "winter sow" or "winter sowing" or even "free seeds" and you'll come up with my site. You don't need the quotes ;-) I'm at the top of the page well above the fold, lol! I think you want the page for Tomato Cage Germination Tunnels--these work really well! And they're super easy to make--you can use them on existing beds and direct sow under them, but make sure you weight down the poly-plastic with lots and lots of bricks so they don't blow away in a severe storm. HOST file not blocking websites.

Before I turned over my computer to my son, I wiped the hard drive clean and reinstalled Windows. The same exact Windows XP the computer has always had. It runs IE 7, same as my current computer. The computer uses the Windows HOST file. All I did was add the sites I want to block. 127.0.0.1 myspace.com 127.0.0.1 etc. But I can still access those sites from his computer. The method works fine on my new computer. And when I had his computer it worked fine then too. I can't think of anything that has changed. Pooh Bear

There is no need to replace the spring as your door is balanced and this is a good check of spring condition. Something is wrong with your sensors. That is the only thing that will cause the main light to flash 10 times. Make sure the brackets at the door are solid and can't move as the door travels. The blinking of the lights on the sensors is so slight that you may have to get on your knees to see it. The wiring may have a break in it. Try moving it as the door closes. This will be difficult. If you can do a continuity check it would be better. If everything checks out it may be the logic board but I really doubt it.

to knash6 - Good Luck, I tried their site and I cannot understand what they are asking the viewer to do. I also have a domain there, thinking of moving to another site, like Homestead, tell me how you make out. craftylady_ma.

I don't have alot of knowledge on the computer and I was able to make up a member page but when I try to type in THE SEEDS I have to trade: and SEEDS I AM LOOKING FOR: The page comes up but I can't type in the information. SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME.
