I keep meaning to switch my user name again... Ten years ago, I think I was already on GW--I suspect I came on slightly after Andie, because I think it was just about the time the GP started. I had an Internet connection of sorts in the early '90s--something called "Prodigy" that was pretty basic and didn't have much of a graphic interface. I switched to a Mac in '94 and started using the precursor to Netscape. I ventured onto GW when I had a question about black tomatoes. I chose my user name accordingly. Bigfoot was one of the first to answer my question, along with a Robin from Calif. Suzanne, Diana was the dark-haired daughter of a Nobel physicist. I saw her name in the paper not too long ago in a listing of area how-to classes (hers was mosaics). I'm in that group photo of Linda C's too, looking, unfortunately, rather better and younger than I do now. And, Linda C, I fear the martini drinker may have been me. Oh Brag Brag Brag Ricky you were just a snot nosed 13yr old while I was a maturing 16! My Dad had the "Hello Mudda, hello Faddah...here I am at Camp.......they said we'd have some fun if it stops raining" album. He also played that on Sunday Ohhhhh Bethie, now you are digging into Eric Burton and the Animals there! What about good Ol "It's My Party and I'll Cry If I want to..."? Leslie Gore anyone? Peppi, this is such a tough time for you & your Dad. That first years goes by in a fog, one day tears, the next trying to be strong, then back to tears. Believe me, I understand & offer my empathy. My Mom's been gone for 39 years come September, an enternity. Dad left in '94 & my oldest sister in '04. We've lost both of DH's parents in the past 5 years. People here were so kind through that tough couple weeks, the trip to CO, hospice...yep, it's tough. Hugs to you, Peppi! /tricia

Hi tash72, I am so deeply sorry for your loss and thank you for sharing your wonderful memories here with the rest of us. There is nothing that will ease the initial pain. For me, I feel a little better knowing that every day here brings me a little closer to the day I will be with my beloved Momma again. Your words above brought to mind a short poem I came across, well before my Momma passed away, and for some strange reason, I kept it. We lost my brother to murder a little over two years before my Momma passed so it just seemed to fit my particular situation. I felt better knowing that one day my family WILL be united again :) My family chain is broken, things will never be the same. But as God call us one by one, my chain will link again. The last year has been quite a struggle for me so I can relate alot to how you are feeling and I pray you find some measure of peace to live your live with happiness as you know your Father would have wanted for you.
