Turner Classic Movies has Babette's Feast and Big Night on in prime time tonight.

I've seen Big Night and enjoyed it a lot. Haven't seen Babette's Feast. I'll DVR it. Thanks!

Watched a remake of "It Happened One Night" with Claudet Colbert and Clark Gable. It was just two days ago and already I forget the name of the remake. It starred Jack Lemon and June Allison. It held pretty much to the story line, but it's hard to beat Clark Gable and Claudet Colbert. I would say its getting near time for a remake of the remake!! Also I remember being halfway though the remake of A Love Affair with Cary Grant and Jean Kerr...the Warren Beatty and Annette Benning movie....before I realized it was even the same movie!

Mare- You're right. I asked my surgeon before the surgery if I could kneel and he said about 40% of his patients kneel with varying degrees of pain. The rest don't even attempt it. I probably kneel once every two or three weeks and I use a thick foam gardener's pad to cushion my knees and I get up as soon as possible. And it's not a petty sight watching me get up either! Chair yoga focuses on balance, posture, stretching and flexibility without any kneeling and the instructor reminds participants to only do what they feel comfortable doing. I'll probably only go to this class on Friday. I much prefer the faster pace and higher intensity of the water exercise classes.

Playing with my camera one night, I took a picture of Uncle Charlie giving niece Charlie the ring in Shadow of a Doubt. I can't bring myself to delete this picture! diane_nj mentioned Key Largo. Some other great Edward G. Robinson movies: Double Indemnity (seductive Barbara Stanwyck practically sets the screen on fire), Scarlet Street, The Stranger. Paul Muni is excellent in Scarface & I Am a Fugitive From a Chain Gang. I can see why he was so respected in his day.

I just watched Babette's Feast last night, due to the recommendations on this forum. Wow. It's way more than a food movie. It's very deep. It'll have me thinking about it for a long time. I just read some of the history that surrounded it, which explained much about what was going on. Thanks for the recommendation, (even if I was a little slow to act on it.)

I thought you meant Chocolat. I did watch it for the second time in a week. That dinner party they have always looks so good, on top of all the tempering of chocolate, chocolate confections, the hot chocolate, mmm.

Stanley Tucci has a cookbook out with some of the recipes from Big Night. They were originally his own family recipes.
