My local Expo design center has the Robern Fairhaven on the floor. It has an aluminum interior but the outside is white painted wood. I have been researching medicine cabinets and went to a showroom where they had several medicine cabinets from a few manufacturers including Robern on display. They had several depths on the floor. Originally, I had thought a 4" deep cabinet would be adequate but after testing the cabinet with jars, the toothbrush system and facial cleaning brush that I use, I liked the 6" the best. If I decide to get the Robern, I probably will get the 8" model with the electric outlets and a nightlight. I would do the 8" because I could use one side to store toilet paper for the bathroom. I am seriously considering another brand called Keuco because I can get one large piece of glass that does not have a break in it. I have a 48" cabinet to put this on. I wish Robern made large single panel glass cabinets but I understand why they don't. The Keuco door is not a swing door but it lifts above your head. It is just over 6" deep. I live close to the Canadian border...many, many people go over for meds. Going over there, or ordering online, is so common I can't imagine there would be a problem as long as you get them from a company that's been around a while. For a short while, a couple of years back, I had to take meds that were really expensive & I have no drug coverage. I asked the doc about Canadian drugs, he thought it was fine - I never got around to it though.

I've never heard that before. My vet has no problem with us ordering our meds online, and recommended the place that we order from (vetcentric.com). I think you do have to be careful that the place that you're buying from is legit. I HAVE heard of online places that tout that you don't need a prescription to buy from them, so who knows what's going on with that kind of situation? They may be doing all kinds of shady things. I just did a little research -- it looks like there may be reasons specifically for your vet being worried about the heartworm medication, though: http://www.fda.gov/fdac/features/2006/606_pets.html It still sounds to me, though, that if your dog has had the heartworm test recently, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to buy the meds online. It's odd.

I remember: Vit C is a cure-all...no, Vit E is it...no, B vitamins do it... beta carotene is it...no, Vit D is it... margarine is good...no, butter is good...whole grains are great...no, whole grains are evil...eliminate fat...no, eliminate *bad* fat...no, eliminate carbs...no, eliminate *bad* carbs...drink red wine...don't drink red wine...eat chocolate...no only eat dark chocolate. It's enough to make one's head spin. I'm at the stage where I'm leery of any of the new "wonder" natural products just as I'm leery of the "wonder" drugs. Perhaps more so as the drugs do have to go through more testing and analysis than the natural products do. And drugs are tested to see that they actually contain what they say they do, unlike so many natural products. Even if the studies done are modest in their conclusions, the internet/media hype around them certainly are not. (Do some diligence to see if the study being hyped has been done on more than a handful of people, for longer than a week, or even if it's been done on people at all, and check to see who sponsored the study and when the study was done.) For every positive report, there seems to be a "myth buster". The latest one I've heard is that the truism that breakfast is the most important meal of the day (brought to you by the breakfast foods industry) may not be so true after all. Even well done studies can disagree...that's why repeatability is so essential in creating good scientific conclusions. (Anyone remember cold fusion?) My take is, it's nice to have another fat option in coconut oil to enjoy, esp one that tolerates high heat for cooking. But don't expect it to equal the hype. If it seems to help you personally, then go ahead and have some. But individual differences (genetic, epigenetic, microbiome, etc.) are such that it's unlikely to be a cure for all, maybe harmful for some, and most likely benign to most. What isn't benign is overall fat/carb/protein intake, calorie intake, weight management and exercise levels. There is more than enough evidence to show that cutting calories lowers weight, that lowering weight reduces a number of health risks, and that exercising is good for your health.
