Ordering frontline online.

Do not order Frontline from MAAK in CA. I ordered on August 24 and never received the product. You can't reach them, they say they'll return calls and don't. I reordered from another company and received it in the same week.

I made an order for Advantage from an on line service and it came from New Zealand...The package looked the same but I honestly don't think it was filled with Advantage, more like water..I ended up going to our local vet's office and getting Advantage...I've been leery about ordering on line, after that....

I know it's risky ordering online and I think some companies are scammers. I have 7 cats and wanted a two months supply which cost $55 for three doses at Petsmart and I ordered it for $93 for 12 doses. The stuff is made in France..Merial company but other countries don't charge as much. Something like seniors going to Canada for meds. This last dose I got came from New Zealand. It appears to be the real thing but I guess you'd have to take it to a lab and have in analyzed. MAAK has really bad consumers complaints which I only read after the fact. This other company had good feedback.

Thanks for the link. The prices are good and comparable to vetshop online where I got it last year. I was thinking of the spray but my 21 pound cat, Henry would claw my face off. He is terrified of the Frontline, and we have to sneak up when he's sleeping. He always wakes up before we get to him. It takes two adults to contain him. The dog is fine with it and the other cats are not happy but not crazy like Henry gets. I did call the vets office and ask them what they recommended the dog get since he is on Sentinel year round. They said Frontline Plus. He has a well visit in a few days so I'm waiting to see what the vet says. I've also heard good things about Advantage. I have always used frontline and think a resistance might be building up.

Cynthia, I stand corrected. I checked Frontline's website. It did use to be prescription only, but is not now. Heck, I may be a convert if I can get it cheaper. Three 100 lb dogs are not cheap on the frontline front. Why are FRONTLINE Brand Products only available through my veterinarian? It is Merial's sales policy to sell our small animal products only where a veterinarian/client/patient relationship exists. Merial believes that the veterinarian is the only professional qualified to serve the health care needs of pets, the concerns of their owners and the appropriate use of our small animal products such as FRONTLINE Brand Products.

Buy from your vet and use half a dose on each cat after the first month....I think you pretty much have to eat it for one month. Frontline is going to be about 10 a bottle. $10 a month for each cat. Then split the bottles - I used half dose on my dog for years. Also be sure to wash down all areas the cats might walk on after fogging so the residue is not on their feet where they lick....good luck

You will find live fleas for at least 4 months. That is how long the eggs that were already in the environment will take to hatch and become adult fleas. Using Frontline Plus will break the cycle of fleas reproducing as well as kill adult fleas. It can take up to 24 hours for fleas on your pets to die. But you will have a continuous new influx of fleas for the next 4 months, because as Laurie mentioned, only 10% of the fleas you have are adults that you can see. The rest are various larval and egg stages just waiting to hatch and emerge. You can either just wait it out (not recommended since your cat is uncomfortable), or treat the house using a product that kills both adult and larval stages. If you choose to treat the house, you will have to follow the directions perfectly and treat the entire house at the same time. It is possible that the company ripped you off and gave you an inferior product. It is also possible that the fleas are resistant. But it is most likely that you are seeing the hatching and emerging of fleas that were already in your home.

http://www.petsuppliesnet.com/shop.htm Thats where I order my flea meds and heartworm pills from, and never had a problem! never seen any fleas and heartworm checks at vet always turn out negative. have compared the flea pkg to the one i bought in the USA and they appear pretty much identical. Im happy, dog/cats are happy, all that matters.

My last order came from vetshoponline.com.It appears to be okay and came in a timely matter. I had the charge to the MAAK company taken off my card. This is a company with a bad reputation., so spread the word.

I order from PetShed.com. Very low prices and it takes about 10 days to ship to you. It's in Australia.

I order from Foster & Smith. It is a company owned by two veterinarians in Wisconsin. I've found their prices are reasonable and I know I'm getting the real thing.
