small red bumps

I have read your post for years ,you all are very helpful people and I hope you can help my son, hes 30 years old woke up one day with small red bumps that looks like a small blister, that goes to a cluster of small blisters, then turn to a very dry red area about a half inch circle, they itch from the start and are all over his chest and back and now on neck and one on face, this has been going on way over a week, frist areas look light red but still dry and doest itch much, others in the home do not have theses, also more apear everyday, any ideas would be helpful. son does not have health insurance at this time, trying to clear it up without going to doctor, thanks in advance

Might be impetigo, shingles, or allergy-related hives. He needs to go to a doctor, insurance or not. Impetigo or shingles cannot be helped with home remedies or OTCs. Does he have any other symptoms? Did he have chickenpox as a child?

Shingles is very painfull, could this be an allergy related to new laundry detergent ?

Of course psoriasis is more than a skin condition - it is an immune condition that involves system wide inflammation which is most visible in the skin, but which can also commonly affect the joints (psoriatic arthritis), and which can affect other tissues, including the heart. Yes, there is a genetic predisposition to psoriasis, but that is no different than the genetic predisposition to heart disease - lifestyle factors can still make a difference. Psoriasis has been treated through the gut - using ox bile, slippery elm, or similar compounds, which reduce the absorption of large proteins, which can send the immune system into overdrive. Bacterial infections are a common trigger for psoriasis/psoriasis flares - particulary Strep type infections. Sunlight or UV therapy is commonly prescribed for psoriasis, as are synthetic forms of Vitamin D. Vitamin D is both a vitamin and a hormone; it turns down many components of the immune system. Most OTC forms of vitamin D supplements are not effective for psoriasis, as they are relatively weak and need to be activated by the kidneys, which limits their effect. Sunshine, on the other hand, is recognized as helpful (and psoriasis is more common in areas with less sunshine - the further away from the tropics one goes, the more psoriasis in general, the cloudier a place is, the more psoriasis in general).

Pinky red bumps on pear leaves?

Yes, Pear Leaf Blister Mite. Especially this time of year. The pink turns to brown later. I got rid of them on one of my trees by completely defoliating it in late summer. Not exactly helpfult to the tree but all of the mites will be gone. They all reside in the leaves and only retreat to the buds in Fall before the leaves fall off. Take away the leaves and it's "buh-bye" to the mites.

Fred, that is almost certainly pear leaf blister mite since it is a very common spring illness in pears. You should spray oil just before the buds start to swell in the spring and you will nail them .. next spring. For this year use oil or sulphur. Both of those work but neither should be sprayed on the other so you need to either let a big rain and/or several weeks go by in between shifting, or stick to one or the other. They are now in the leaves so its hard to completely control them but you can set them back with sprays and they also tend to fade as the summer heat kicks in. Scott

We have 2 maples in our back yard right next to each other. One is about 50 years old and the other is about 35 years old. Both of our trees have these " bumps " on them every year. Our leaves never fall prematurely. As a matter of fact we normally have a few inches of snow on the ground before the trees lose the leaves. Its been lile this my whole life. My grandmother owned this house so as a child i climbed these trees all the time. My wife and i own it now and Im almost 30 now so its been going on for quite some time. I beleive they are harmless and we really dont notice them unless we look real closley. As long as a billion arachnids dont suddenly hatch and eat us alive im ok with them being there.

I had shingles - yes they're the most painful thing I ever endured. But when they first start, they just look like little bug bites and then the itching starts and so on.

Pityriasis rosea is another possibility

Thank you so much to all that posted, after dong a search for pityriasis rosesa and reading and looking at the picture I beleive lazygardens is right, it looks and sounds just like what my son has, I have seen and took care of people with shingles and had some idea of how they ran there course didnt think it was shingles, hes had hives over the years, that was my frist thought but hives come and go and never looked like that before on him. no new detergents, he does use way to much bleach, rewashed everything, hes never had chicken pox or any other childhood disease, that always worried me.didnt look like imepetgo, it looks just like the pictures we will see what happens he will go to doctor if nothing helps thanks agine

Could it be ring worm? It's a fungal disease with a very distinctive appearance.

It also could be eczema. It sounds like the symptoms I experience. Go to a dermatologist, they will get him a proper diagnosis and treatment. You cannot treat this on your own.
