Teragren Bamboo moistire barrier vinyl?
Comments (2)It has a high perm rating and actually does work, but will do nothing for inconsistent humidity and improper acclimation, nor will it compensate for dew points and concrete being capable of being below dew point temperature. Making the vinyl below dew point temp. As long as you keep a hygrometer in every room and have the ability to raise and lower the humidity as needed, along with proper acclimation, you should be fine, going over cheap sheet vinyl, using the right glue specified to go over sheet vinyl....See MoreStrand Bamboo Brands
Comments (12)I'm having the same concern. I originally went to lumber liquidators and found a nice hand scraped strand bamboo flooring. I then went online and researched a load of companies. So far, I like Cali bamboo. My biggest concern was the formaldehyde in the products. Cali bamboo has little to no formaldehyde added in there product. I've read those same reviews about Morning star, but they were outdated. I was emailed a material safety data sheet on Morning Star brand, but no one could tell me how much formaldehyde content was in the morning star product. At the bottom of the sheet there was a disclaimer: "The information and data herein are believed to be accurate and have been compiled from sources deemed to be reliable. It is offered for your consideration, investigation and verification. Lumber Liquidators makes no warranty of any kind, express or implied, concerning the accuracy of completeness of the information and data herein. Lumber Liquidators will not be liable for claims relating to any party's use of or reliance on information and data contained herein regardless of whether it is claimed that the information and data are inaccurate, incomplete or otherwise misleading. It is incumbent upon the user to obtain the most up-to-date information". So I guess what they mean is that the info on the safety data sheet is BS. I'd like to know. Cali bamboo is great, but I actually prefer the hand scraped look they have from Morning Star at lumber liquidators. Does anyone know if Morning Stars 2011 line has added formaldehyde?? (That's the lovely odor you smell from the floors). I can't seem to be able to get a solid answer. Comments (5)Hello, I am a Regional Sales Manager with Teragren Fine Bamboo. Both of your options are great ones. In terms of durability, design, and environmental stewardship, there are no better than Teragren Fine Bamboo. The Synergy product line is offered in two constructions. The Synergy Solid Strip MPL is suitable for a glue down and nailing installations. The Synergy Wide Plank Floating Floor is designed with a patented locking tongue and groove that may lend itself ease to a DIY style project. The Portfolio Collection may be either glued or floated in installation. The Portfolio Collection is engineered with an extraordinary drop-locking tongue and groove mechanism that may be the most DIY friendly product in hardsurface flooring. An instructional video may be found here http://teragren.com/ad/installation_portfolio.html. As for Darby Brown, the room scene photography does create a nice depiction of the material. However, room scene photography is brightly lit for optimal grain ehhancement of a dark floor. I feel that in a real life home settings, lighting tends to be more ambient and muted and doesn't pronounce the individual color variation that is inherent in the material as greatly. So take that into consideration with your design. I would be happy to help you further with your questions and also help you to source your flooring selection from an authorized Teragren Fine Bamboo Retailer. My email address is matthew@teragren.com. Please email me your contact information and I will give you a call. Thank you for selecting Teragren Fine Bamboo Flooring!...See Moreegrigby
