OK, seriously - HOW do you clean wood (or faux wood) blinds?
Comments (45)figured I would bring this post back to life since I am now in need of cleaning my faux wooden blinds lol! in response to the last persons post re: using Windex, do not use Windex wipes. not sure about the spray but i happen to have a pack of windex wipes next to me and it says not for use on any wood type surfaces. pledge makes good wipes for that but you would prob need a few packages if your blinds were reallyyy dirty. anyway i am going to try dawn soap with warm water since mine are filthy! i had a small fire me in my room last summer and the insurance company had someone come in to clean the walls, blinds Etc and only bc i had to take my bounds down to fix a broken tilt cord, i just now noticed how horribly they "cleaned" them. (see picture reference) so ill post the before pictures now and after pictures once im done. in the pics im attaching now show how bad the back side of the blinds were that dont face towards me vs the 3rdnpic which is what i usually have them set to..ugh! at least 8 only have 1 side to really scrub at vs dusting the other cleaner side lol!...See Moreremoving pledge from hardwood floors
Comments (10)When using the Windex Original formula, you want to spray (almost soak) an area 2ft x2ft. Leave the windex for 30-60 seconds (no more, no less). Then wipe up with a cotton cloth. Check the cloth for a yellow/orange/brown colour. If you see it then you have begun the 'stripping' process. Spray the area again and wipe up normally. Check the cloth. If it shows any form of yellow/orange, continue spraying/wiping in the same area until the cloth comes away 'damp' looking (maybe a snick blue from the windex). I've successfully removed Pledge from finished furniture using Windex Original. Windex original has 5% ammonia = the strength suggested for floors....See MoreIs it ok to have furniture and flooring similar tone and finish?
Comments (12)We typically have a corner chair with a lamp where the tree is , if we go wider with the console , it would be a tight fit unfortunately . The dresser that’s in the photo is actually the buffet in the dining room whereas the darker console is what we want to use for under the tv. I would agree we could move the tv down a bit. I’m always keen on keeping a space neutral in pallet because I change the decor / accent pieces based on season. I would like to buy some velvet emerald green throw pillows for the couch to add some more color for winter , possibly another area rug that has more grey tones in it versus predominately white . What color curtains would you suggest, would a light grey work? Once we have cellular shades installed to help with insulating the window area, the curtains will remain open as just to frame the window. Thanks so much for your critique and advice , as always ... I much appreciate it !...See MoreCan you use darker wood toned furniture with light color floor
