Recs for Moisture Barrier and flooring on Concrete Slab

To make a long story short... we discovered mold on the carpet in one of our bedrooms. An inspector diagnosed the problem as being a result of the way our house is situated on the land, not due to any broken pipes, water from outside, etc. Basically, our house is on a concrete slab, which retains moisture from the ground, and the padding under our berber carpet is holding on to that moisture. We're thinking that we'll need to pull back the carpets, let the slab dry, and lay a moisture barrier before replacing the flooring. Any recs on what types of moisture barrier to get, differences in price/types, and what type of flooring we ought to consider? anyone btdt, or have any other tips? thanks.
