Need help for storage table in kitchen!

Hello all,

I am just finishing a kitchen makeover. I need a table (40w x 30h x 12-15d) to put under a built in cupdboard. My cabinets are cherry but I thibnk I owuld like a metal finish with some drawers, wine storage and book shelf space. Tope could be chery or stone. I havelooked all over the internet and at local stores . NOthing yet. Any advice. Thanks

Talk to some area cabinet makers about getting something custom made. Don't expect to pay the same as something from a discount furniture store.

candibarr's suggestion is awesome. I would get some graph paper and design what you consider to be correct and then talk to some cabinet makers or go to your local school and ask/talk to the "Shop teacher" if they have one. Sometimes they will take on a project like this if you buy the wood and all materials, the shop teacher might even be interested on doing it on the side for some extra money. Most of these guys are really good, and who ever saw a "teacher" that couldn't use some extra money! They should be getting double what they are (my opinion)!

you could do something with the 78 in dimension/but the 60 in dimension is really limiting. Without knowing more,I'd be inclined to take a wall and attach an 18-22 in deep counter and get some comfortable/attractive stools. You would have the space on unused wall for storage needs /depending on windows [or not] and type of storage you feel you need.

These are great suggestions, thanks so much! I love the Room and Board table and Design within Reach Zero table - gorgeous! We're going to head out tomorrow and look at those, and hit a few restaurant supply places. I think we could probably replicate the Zero table by getting a base and making our own top. island, our banquette will be installed Monday - we're having custom seating made. It's a small space under the windows and we have cabinets below the banquette for extra storage.

For the $2k budget - I would definitely keep a close eye on FB Marketplace, people don't seem to eat at tables anymore and Marketplace is FULL of dining tables and chairs - same with hutches if you would want something larger in the spot where the winter cab is currently. If you're handy at all you can refinish or paint the furniture you find on FB and make it match your style - you've got a light bright comfortable room, what a lovely spot to hang out! (If you strike out on Marketplace, there are lots of custom table sellers on Etsy so you might find something there you like better)
