We have collected razor clams many times. Only recently have I seen them for sale at one of the Asian markets I visit. As you say, they are meaty and good tasting. We have always steamed them and dipped them in melted butter, although there is no reason they can't be prepared in other ways.
Catching razor clams bare-handed, as we do, is fun and sporting. They burrow rapidly and veer off in various directions. If you don't get hold of the clam within a few seconds there is no chance of catching it. The sporting part comes in avoiding cut fingers while going after them aggressively.
Those clams definitely are making my mouth water! I've never had Razor clams, have never seen them here, either. But I can hope!
Questions about Naan. . . I've never eaten it, either. So I looked up (on the 'net) some recipes.
Seems it is pretty much just a basic yeast bread dough like my mother made (with egg & milk). But baked as a flat bread rather than a loaf. Am I missing something?
I'm adding a link to one site that claims it is "too elaborate to be made at home." Again, am I missing somthing? It appears pretty basic, I think. . .
Once again, I have learned from you, Dcarch. Thank you!
(And keep those great artistic food arrangements of yours coming, please!)
That was a fun, easy and delicious meal to make. Using the naan like pita bread to wrap the clam meat and crunchy bean sprouts, with all the juice and sauce, Yum!.
Rusty, most breads are similar in the dough recipes. Flour, salt, yeast, sugar, etc. It is in the baking that makes the difference.
I will start a new thread to talk a little about how I made the naan.
