Just checking in with everyone

Hi Everyone;

I hope everyone is doing well. I haven't left a message in a long time but come every now & then to see how everyone is doing. I never really had much to say. I guess I don't really have anything to say now but I'll write anyway. I have been alright. Have my good days & bad days. I guess that's what I have to expect for the rest of my life. I was sad to see many new postings from new people. Just know you all are in many people's thoughts & prayers all the time. I can't believe it's already February. Just under 4 months away from 1 year since my precious son left us & his 5th birthday. I can't believe how fast the time is going by. I am dreading it already even though it's not for a while. ANyway, I'll go for now, just felt like writing something. Best wishes to all of you!

Hi, Brycesmommy! I'm so glad that you checked in with us and glad that you are managing alright. I certainly understand the dread of the 1st anniversary of the heaven day and also his birthday. Christin left this world just one week before her birthday and with the two dates so close together, I know the anxiety of the dreaded dates.
Really though, they will not be as bad as you may expect. Also, don't feel like you should be miserable on those days. On Christin's heaven day, I just try to think of the glorious place that she is in now and TRY to think of it as a happy celebration for her to have been joined again with our God with no more tears or pain, ever. For that, I have to be happy for her. The birthdays are a little different. To me, they are sad because I can't help but think of all the would have beens and could have beens and should have beens. Again though, I try to realize that her life may not have ended up as happy as I may wish that it would have. As we all know, life is full of hurts and disappointments and I try to console myself with the thought of even if her life would have turned out wonderfully happy, it still wouldn't have been as glorious as heaven is for her now. These earthly things are NOTHING compared to what they have in heaven.
I hope that maybe these thoughts may help you through the difficult days.
Thanks again for checking in. I am doing alright, too.
Our family has so much to be thankful for.

Hi Reed, Sounds like things are better for you. Not much garden in our part of the State yet. I stuck some extra tomato plants in the ground a little over a week ago and covered them with 5 gallon plastic jugs with the bottoms cut out. So far, so good. I didn't plant Spring crops because of travel, but I have lots of tomato plants to put in this week, and I need to shop for some peppers. (Dawn agreed to help me with that also). I will not have a normal garden this year, but we did get a lot of trees planted at my son's place this Spring and I will just have to settle for the Summer crops that I can put in now and later.

I was surfing through them today and noticed one member name that came up 3 different times...all spelled the exact same way. I think part of the problem might be with the 2 different search boxes. If one is told to do a search in the box found at the bottom of the page, they will get all posts for that member on ALL forums. Now as most of us veterans know, if one does a search in the search box found just below the list of 'threads' then the search can be narrowed to just searching the Rate and Review Forum. Possibly we should start a Suggestion (and crusade) to have to search box put up at the top of the page and it be just specifically for search results on the Review Forum. There is a search box at the top at the Pond Forum that will yield only the results for that forum. There is also one at the very bottom of the page which will yield posts for the whole site...very confusing. There was a suggestion about this b4 the Suggestion Box was emptied at the old Suggestion and 'comment' Forum. I agree...it is gonna be a real mess in time. Maybe it would help if when any of us see a second thread started for the same member, we post a link to the second one of them and maybe request that future posts be made to the thread that was started first....or you know what I mean...don't ya? Felt it as just a little jiggle while sitting on the couch here in Placerville. News nearer the epicenter was that it broke a few things and cleared some shelves, but didn't harm anyone. LindaB/CA

Thanks Michael, on the disclosure. I know about that. Where I live, you can sell "as-is", but I'm pretty sure there may be some provisions in the law for disclosing or fixing major problems like the septic system. They are in Michigan and I'm not sure about the laws there. Funny thing, I'm so honest, i would probably dislose even if I didn' to. I clean my house before turning it over to the new owners - UNLIKE THE POs OF MY CURRENT HOUSE!! It took 2 hours for me to clean the washing machine. Luck would have it, I still had to buy new ones!! Thanks for the "warning"...
