Leather Furniture Online - purchase w/o seeing in person
Comments (8)Andrea, are you having trouble finding something in particular? Can you not find the brand of a style or two to at least consider and compare? Have you looked at leathers and gotten a feel for the types you like -- for fit and feel as well as for wear characteristics? have you been dealing with anyone at Leather Furniture Expo? The reason I am asking is because a guy named Sam there has just helped me and it turns out I cannot order from them due to an "exclusive color" or I would. I've had numerous issues with the local store over the last couple of months. If you have to order without actually seeing the item, you need to have someone who can work with you very knowledgeably -- and you ave to be able to tell them particulars -- like height, long-waisted or short waisted people, softness or firmness you desire on cushions, pets/kids or none, etc. And you need to have an idea of what kind of leather you like and how you want it to wear. I have been looking at Omnia recently and that is one of the lines LFE carries. Everyone I have sat on is comfortable. Some are better for sitting and chatting while others would be great for lounging and TV watching. All the leathers have been nice quality, but I did not prefer the ones with the highly polished, firm leathers -- they sit firmer and I sometimes feel like I could slide off rather than sink in. We also found that we liked a taller back, especially if we are going to look at reclining pieces. We liked the look of one called the Dakotah, but the back was not tall enough for reclining or lounging -- it would be great for sitting. So your use will factor in too. If you know enough about what you want and need and can work with someone who really knows their products, you can probably get to something that is going to work for you -- but the fit and feel of both furniture in general and leather in particular make it something that really lends itself better to a tactile experience for most folks. That's why you are getting the responses you are. We want to touch it and feel it....See MoreHydeline Leather Furniture
Comments (1)We are also considering Hydeline, but want to hear from actual customers who have purchased. They look great on paper and seem to save costs by cutting out store front and distributor/retail channels....See Moreleather furniture and pets
Comments (7)I wonder what the fabric sofa stores would say about having dogs sleep on the fabric furniture regularly. I can’t imagine they would recommend it. I’m not able to give a manufacturer- type viewpoint. But my DD has had brown leather sofas that are withstanding 10 + years of dogs and small children. I have no idea what brand or type of leather. I also can imagine that there are thinner or more delicate leathers and also lighter colors that are more problematic. If you think about fabric and dogs, I’m not sure you can get a good result unless you can actually launder the fabric, such as a washable slipcover or a quilt or sofa- protector. Because, doggie odor, especially if the dog spends a good deal of time on the sifa ( or chair.) To me the leather does not pick that up much it at all, compared to throws and bed linens that dog snoozes on regularly....See MoreDoes anyone know about the construction of McKinley Leather Furniture?
Comments (0)I was told that when the dad died the daughter took it over and that the construction is not the same. There is nothing on their website that tells of their construction....See MoreJen
