Pet friendly furniture advice needed
Comments (1)I'm looking at sunbrella indoor fabric upholstery. We have 2 spoiled dogs and I want something that vacuums easily. Pet hair tends to "weave" itself into most fabrics and I hear sunbrella is better at preventing that than most fabrics. We have a stray cat in our neighborhood which I suspect sleeps on our outdoor furniture. This fabric cleans up really easy....See MoreDoes anyone know where Gardner White gets its leather furniture?
Comments (6)I would have to agree with you not to purchase leather from Gardner White. I did less then a year ago and have problems with my furniture already and have been told by everyone at Gardner White that it is normal wear and tear. I have a problem with that since I paid $3500 and purchased the extended warranty. I made sure to do my homework when buying furniture because I do have animals and after months of reading and shopping our salesman at Gardner White had us sold that leather is the most durable material with animals and that the warranty would cover if we have any problems. Well we have problems and now Gardner White's response is wear and tear. I have several family members who recommended Gardner White to me and after seeing what I have to go though they not only lost me as a customer but family too. BEWARE is all that I have to say....See MoreQuestion for those of you with pets that get on the furniture
Comments (30)Laurie, Thank you! I love the floor too. DH says there are things we really did right in building our home (and wrong!! LOL) but this floor is one of the good decisions. It's engineered and from the "Old World" collection of a company called Provenza. It's wide plank white oak...rustic with lots of knots. And, the easiest flooring I've ever had. Bar none. Because it's natural, no stain on it, small scratches don't show or they blend right into the rustic nature of the wood. Even larger scratches seem to just get lost in the floor, like they become part of it. Taking care of the floor is a simple vacuum and occasional damp/dry mop using a solution we got from the company. I even dripped some rasberry juice on it once and it came right up with a damp sponge. Plus it's Bree's hair color!!! LOL Our cabinets are select alder. The stain was made by our painter to match the darker streaks in the oak floor. Here is a link that might be useful: Provenza Old World collection...See Morepets and leather furniture
Comments (8)A good quality leather sofa in a leather that is not butter soft but with a bit of grain will stand up to 2 dogs for a very long time.I have white leather in my LR which we use daily with at the moment just one big pyrenees but we did also have 2 golden crosses the furniture is 12 yrs old and still looks like new. When buying leather you truly get what you pay for.I prefer Italian made leather because I do not like srpings in my furniture . I think some of the sunbrella fabrics work okay but I find them a bit rough feeling . Get the best possble pieces you can afford.BTW please no sectional get a sofa and 2 chairs or 2 sofas and 2 choirs but no sectional and especially one with a chaise....See Moreblueskysunnyday
