The Crate & Barrel Cameron queen sleeper sofa is $1899.

Does anyone know if the quality between the two is very different? Does anyone have any feedback about which one I should get?

I didn't get a sleeper, but recently received a Cameron sofa and loveseat in a stock plus fabric. These are manufactured by Lee Industries, a company that has gotten good reviews on this site. I am not satisfied with the quality of the upholstery. The welting down the front edges is uneven on all four arms. Below the welting along the back front edge of the loveseat, the fabric is noticeably puckered in two places. I called my local salesman and sent pictures to customer service at Crate and Barrel as soon as the pieces arrived. Two reps from the local store came out today. They took more pictures and were going to contact Lee to see what they will do to remedy the problems. I will let you know when I hear more. Just to make sure I wasn't being too picky, I went back to look at the sofa on the floor at Crate and Barrel here and its quality is much better than mine. I know this is not top of the line furniture, but I do expect what I get to look as good as what is shown in the store.

Update to my posting above. The Crate and Barrel reps called back and left me a message saying they'd contacted Lee who agreed the loveseat wasn't up to their standards and would give me a "do over," but Lee thought the sofa was w/in their standards. Crate and Barrel offered me 10% off. I thought about it and then called them back and said I didn't think that was satisfactory; it wasn't the money, it was the fact that I'd have to look at the imperfections for as long as I had the sofa. The rep agreed to try again with Lee. I got a phone call back the same day saying she'd talked to the Crate and Barrel regional manager and they'd decided to give me a redo on the sofa too! They didn't want me to be dissatisfied and since the local people agree the sofa doesn't look as good as it should, Crate and Barrel will take it up with Lee again.

Obviously, I am extremely happy about this resolution. I should add that it all happened in a most timely way and that the Crate and Barrel people were very responsive. They really seemed to care about my satisfaction as a customer. In this case, I'm very glad to have had Crate and Barrel as a middleman between me and the manufacturer. I'm really impressed with their customer service and I hope Lee comes through with a better product next time.

Check-out RH Modern. This kinda makes me sick... The bed is Bob Williams, but in black-- you'll notice on the Bob Williams site that it's seriously marked down, so I think they are phasing it out for RH Modern. Soho Concept and Nuevo have pieces similar to the dining table, and the Milo Baughman chair looks like it is from Thayer Coggin, but in black leather. I think we should be trying to figure out these sources BEFORE they do their huge national launch of their new stores over the next 12 months. I know I've seen dining chairs similar, but can't seem to find them now. At least you guys have warning to start looking for similar products at the various trade markets. They are also hiring a TON of designers to have on hand. Halo, GJ, and Four Hands used to be the main wholesalers for Resto, but the guys at GJ were really unhappy at High Point Market when I asked them about it this past April. Something went down...

I had someone do that to me last summer. I was selling a new and unopened inflatable waterslide we had and was meeting the guy about 15 miles from home since he was from the next county over. Once he got there, he examined the unopened box, said he'd take it and put it in his truck. Then he proceeded to try and short me $50 because it was 'all he had' and it wasn't worth anymore than that anyway. This was a new waterslide that retailed or $300 I was selling or $150 and after confirming the price via e-mail and phone he tried to short me! He insisted he wasn't paying any more than $100 for it so I had him take it out of his truck and put it back in my van pronto! His 4 year old kid - who's birthday party it was for that afternoon! - was in tears and I felt very badly for him, but that money was earmarked for something for my own kids and I couldn't help that he had a real jerk for a Dad. Fortunately, I had 7 other people wanting the slide and sold it within the same hour to someone who wasn't a cheapskate.

Just saw your California comment. I can't get Smith here either. The Omnia leather I have been looking at is based in California. They are US made and 100% leather. The ones we've been looking at are all very cofortable and I especially like that the cushions (seat and back) can have the inserts replaced. Even those pillowy arms that are the first thing to go flat (though I still prefer a true arm for myself). Surely you can find a dealer out there. They have a couple of online retailers I'v found -- if nothing else, you can compare pricing (leather furniture expo and leather showroom, which is the online part of texas leather interiors). We had two cats when we got out current leather sectional and they were with us another 10 years. I have exactly one small scratch on the end where back claws tried to did in as one was being chased. It could be coveed up with shoe polish but because of the location, I tried it once and never worried about it again. Don't be tempted to use a marker -- someone did that on a spot on a reclinging sofa we saw at a clearance center -- the ink soaked right in, bled and made it larger, dark and awful. We've had the sectional now for nearly 13 years and 2 boys and their friends and family grew up during those years as well as aquired two 50-60 lb dogs who have lived on that sectional with us. It's still functional, but one seat is showing wear and the arms have lost some oomph in the padding. And it was a Lane -- which people now say is junk. Maybe not the same reputation 13 years ago -- I don't know. The leather should hold up well -- if the frame is solid, you should be good for a long time.

oh okay, thanks. i decided to go with a room and board knock-off sofa made by furniture envy. it still cost me $2550. but it has a queen sleeper in it. thanks for the info regarding crate & barrel and hope everything works out for you.
