Rowe Cooper sofa
Comments (3)I do not have that particular Rowe sofa, but I do have a slipcovered loose back sofa and loveseat from Rowe. We've had ours about 8 years maybe. We've been happy with this set. It is heavy, comfortable and I love the machine washable slipcovers. I've had both loose back and the tight back sofas. The loose back is nice because you can flip them around for extra wear... but they can look messy if you have kids or pets climbing on the sofa. Hope that helps....See MoreWhich fabric to use for floating row covers?
Comments (10)Of the 2 choices you've shown, the second is probably the best choice for insect control. Without experience using that fabric, I personally can't offer advice on how it will perform. I think you'll have to make the decision by taking the sum of the variables you face... * How fast do you need it? - No shops near me carry the agribon that I use, so I have to order online. That takes time, and at least one year it was back-ordered. If you need it right away, you would have to check on it's availability. * Always ask about the 'weight'. These products come in different thicknesses. If you have warm-hot summers, you want the thinnest one possible for insect protection. In the late fall, winter, and early spring, many people opt for the heavier ones because their main purpose is to help with frost protection. Both the options you show seem very light weight. * Cost: Compare prices. You'll need to do the math, some are sold by 'the yard', and some are sold by length of a fixed-width. * As was said above, make sure you get the right width for what you need. I use the 118" because it makes a fairly good low tunnel when draped over PVC pipes. I've never measured the height, but I make my pipes like 9' long and arc them over 4' beds. * Are they sew-able? If you are going to buy a tulle-like product (I think that's what you have in those pics) in a fabric store, and it doesn't come in the length or width you need... will you be able to sew it together in some way? I have patched areas that have ripped on mine using pieces from last year's fabric 'stitched' with an ordinary office stapler. So far, so good. I may have missed an area or 2 of concern, but these are some of the things you'll want to ask yourself when deciding what to get....See MoreLeather couch for durability
Comments (14)Macy's carries several Italsofa models(cheaper line of Natuzzi). While it's not as great as Natuzzi itself (which I also have-these are 17 years old:) but they need to be reupholstered, to tell you the truth. I'm just not so willing to do that at the moment), we have our pieces purchased there for seven years already, and they hold pretty well. Some slight sagging on the sectional(most heavily used). We bought them on a big sale, so it was comparatively a great deal My sectional looks like Milano they carry now..I'm not sure whether it's Milano or not, but there is visual similarity. Mine is brick red. I don't like bulky styles so was looking for something that can work in any setting, more or less..something not too heavy visually, yet comfortable and durable. And I liked the colors they had then. So I have red sectional in the library, aubergine sofa in the living, and sunflower-yellow armchair..(which now lives in a master bedroom and looks totally different-I covered it in this huge cozy throw, sort of oatmeal color..it was too bright and thus diverted attention from a new pendant..)) (now of course I dislike knowing I bought them kinda together, (even though they were of different colors intended for different spaces) because I prefer eclectic mix of furnishings. (And a bit tired of leather.. but yes, of course, life is much easier that way). and I never repeated the same mistake again.. then we moved, new space, new arrangement, and it partially took care of the problem..love it more now) Now, I realize I gave you a lot of totally not-needed info..:)in short, second looking into suggestion of Macy's. Probably not a bad combo of price vs quality....See Morewhere do you buy a nice, durable leather couch?
Comments (12)Thanks for the help! Our budget has not really been decided yet, as I have paid over a thousand for two of my couches, and they have not held up at all. I would probably save a while longer to be able to buy a really quality piece--just because if you buy something, and a year from now, have to replace it, you are better off (and better for the environment too) spending more at the beginning, and getting longer wear....See Moreimagalaxygirl_hotmail_com
