Know anything about Noble furniture?

My husband and I were looking for a bedroom set for our extra bedroom and weren't looking to spend a lot. We searched craigslist and found a 6 piece mission style set that looked to be in new condition for a great deal. Needless to say it was a bit awkward (compounded by the fact that it was a divorce sale) so we didn't look too closely, though I did notice in one of the drawers was a stamp that I believe said "Noble". Even if it were "Rooms To Go" brand it was a great deal, but I'm curious and can't find anything on the web. Any info would be appreciated!

When I saw your post, my first thought was that many furniture retailers (including the one I worked for for several years) buy heavily from Chinese markets. I did a little looking and found that there is a Noble Furniture Co, Ltd. in China Yu Huan (http://www.fairwindow.com/ciff/en/view.aspx?newsid=737&type=4), but that there is also a Noble Enterprise in Tailand. http://www.alibaba.com/countrysearch/TH-suppliers/Home_Furniture.html

Either way, your furniture likely came from one of the hundreds of small Chinese factories that produce much of the furniture in the US. What does that mean? Only that you will likely have trouble finding exact matches. The other thing that many retailers do is import from these tiny factories and put them under a store Brand name (we used Condor for about 15 Chinese factories).

I know that is not a lot of help, and I could be wrong, but hopefully it at least clears some things up.

I worked for Noble Furniture aka Noble Concepts for 10 years, leaving in April 2003. It went under a year later.
We did a brand in the drawer like yoy saw of a lion and it said Noble Furniture. It was not made in China, it was made in El Cajon, Ca. If you are looking for the same type Furniture search Anthony Lauren, It's also made in El Cajon Ca. by many of the same employees of Noble.

Since I asked the question, I thought I'd give you an update. I got 2 emails the same day, after checking on the status of the order. One said that the factory expected completion some time the week of August 24th. The next one said that the factory had notified them that the order was complete, they were billing me for the remaining balance, and that the shipping company would notify me of a delivery date. I'm a little unnerved that they bill me and effectively leave it up to the shipping company from there. I'll see what happens this coming week. Stay tuned for updates if you're interested.

We've sold Ashley for a long time. There are definitely worse brands out there...but there are some better ones, too. In leather furniture I am pretty sure that Ashley only has models in their higher quality Millenium label. We sell a ton of Ashley/Millenium, and our policy has always been to discontinue brands that cause us a great deal of service problems. Ashley is no worse in this area than other value brands. Buy the Ashley if you like it. Value Priced brands are what they say they are, but guess what, most higher end brands don't have a better manufacturer's warranty anyways! It's silly to say you can't get 10 years out of a particular brand off hand. It almost completely depends on how you use it. Keep it clean and the leather will last. Don't jump on it and the springs will be fine. Don't drop it and the frame will not break (also when moving value priced furniture, lift...don't drag). You can get a decent sofa at $800 in leather, much less than that would be cause for concern. We also carry Lane (avg $1000 sofa) and Leather Italia (avg $1300 sofa). Several years ago I took a four-class staging course at the local community college. The person who taught the class had her own business staging and was teaching this class for folks interested in selling their own houses, I believe. The course probably did not teach me anything I couldn't have learned by reading books, watching HGTV, etc., but I consider it worthwhile anyway because it was really fun. An added bonus was that some specific ideas did stick in my mind so that when I ended up having to sell in a hurry, I could. The teacher had a certification through one of the organizations that offers the more costly courses for professionals---so if you were to take a course, teaching DIY folks in classes like the one I took might be another source of income :)

Does anyone know anything about Upholstery Fabrics?

I didn't actual ask a question - did I!!? My question/concern was the fabric being in 100% Polyester vs. using a mixed fabric blend. I read on one site that 100% polyester was rarely used on furniture, so I was hoping to get feedback if polyester is okay. Thanks!
