Probably. But a quick story that comes to mind is on my DH. When we moved into our house 22 years ago one of his relatives gave us a fake hanging ivy plant. I dutifully hung it up while always hating it. A couple of years later I switched it out for a real hanging ivy plant. My DH never noticed until a few years after that when he asked, looking very quizzically at me as I was watering the plant "Why are you watering a fake plant?".

After I bought a car many years ago, I was sitting in a drive-thru of a fast-food place. I think I'd had the car maybe 6 months. There were a few cars ahead of me, so I just started to look around the car's interior -- playing with the moonroof, setting a few more radio buttons, playing with the steering wheel adjustment, etc. Stuff that I already checked out in my first week of having it.

Then I saw this little ridged piece to the left of the steering wheel, low on the dash. Reached for it, realized it pulled out.

It was a coin drawer. I started laughing because I'd never even seen it on my test drive!

Pammy, I love those moments! I've had a million of them but the most recent was when I was on FaceBook yesterday. I've been on it for a few years now, and never realized when I'm looking at someone's pictures that I can just click on the little "x" in the conversation box to take me back to the main page, instead of either leaving FB and coming right back, or using the back arrow ten times!

Yesterday when I accidenally hit the X, I said, "cool!" My usual word for such discoveries. lol

Well, not me but my ex. He didn't notice the Christmas tree I had put up by myself and fully decorated. It took all day and was in the room where you walk right in from the garage.

One of the many reasons he's my ex.

It was a car thing for me too. Had the car over a year before I noticed a button. Pushed it and my mirrors folded in against the car. Guess it is for parking in tight places. Wow.

Kind of along the same thoughts - I never notice how "bad" or "good" the appearance of something is after I get used to seeing it the way it is until I make a change. Hope that makes sense.....the placement of furniture, accessories, etc. Most of us get use to something and it becomes the norm.

Example: Several years ago, we had a floor model TV - it tore up - too old to fix. Like many of us have done at some point in time, we bring in a small TV from the bedroom, stack it on the old one, and watched it for several weeks. After a few days, it ceased to look ugly - it was just there.

golddust - I was going to post the same thing! I was adjusting the mirrors and accidentally clicked it one further and the mirrors folded in. I'd had the car more than a year.

OAKLEYOK - OMG!!!! You are my facebook hero!!!. I just read your comment about using the X button (esc to close is what it says) and had to go and check that out. It works!!. I would look at all 50 pics of my new great nephew and then either close facebook or use the back arrow 50 times. Thank-you, thank-you. How can you tell I am just so excited about this.

Absolutely...like the way a recessed light in my living room is centered on the room, but not soffit braces or this one section of trim on my fireplace wall that is 4" tall at one end and 5" tall at the other end.

As for cars, don't get me started. I've had my current vehicle for three years and didn't know that it had seat heaters until someone was riding in the back seat and turned theirs on. I live in a warm climate. I would never use a seat heater, but still...

Then, there's a car I once owned. Until I was checking under the seats to make sure I was leaving none of my possessions in it when I sold it, I never realized that there was a large map or whatever drawer under the front passenger seat.

OK, this is kind of embarassing...

Dh and his band buddies were planning a photo shoot and I picked up a few items of clothing with an 'edgier' look. One being a black tone-on-tone cut velvet shirt.

The fabric looks kind of like this

All went well with the shoot. A few months later he wore the shirt to work with a pair of gray pinstripe pants. He looked great and I told him that as he left in the morning.

He comes home that evening and asks "Do you see a woman on my shirt?" I'm like Huh???

I look closely and to my surprise (horror!) see the scroll pattern in the shirt was created using this silhouette:

One of the guys at work mentioned how much he liked the shirt and the girls in the shirt. Dh and I had no idea they were in there.

When I think about it months later I still laugh.

I'm sure there are many things like that, but I can't think right now. I'm going on less than ten hours sleep the last two nights and yesterday I drove to St. Jo, MO, shopped, had lunch and shopped some more and got back in eight hours time. It's a two and a half hour drive each way.

I'm back. I just remembered one thing that took me years, over eight and a half actually, to remember. While walking the perimeter of of our land to get my daily steps in a couple days I ago I noticed we have a few trees with berries in them. I've mowed right by them a countless number of times over the years, but have never ever noticed them. Guess I need to walk our property more often.
