Hummus w/ a variety of raw veggies & pita wedges. I always serve it with Snyder's GF pretzel sticks now too. :)

Fruit on little bamboo skewers. Easy to eat, no cheese, goes with your menu.

I made this recently and it was yummy! (not my pic)

1. Add the following to your food processor:
   -1 can of white beans, drained and rinsed
   -1 avocado, cubed
   -juice from 1/2 of a lime
   -1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon of olive oil (a lower fat option: substitute oil for juice from the beans)
   -1/2 teaspoon sea salt
   -1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
   2. Blend until smooth.... EASY AS THAT!

Given where you live this might be out of the question, but an easy option is guacamole! You can also serve crudites and a spinach dip, or chips and salsa!

One more I make often is caponata - easy to do ahead and delicious served room temp with bread/toast or crackers.

Also, lots of people love Texas Caviar dip with tortilla chips. (I don't have a go to recipe for this, I just google to find one when needed).

I've been making antipasti platters recently. Must be all the storms...1/4 lb each of a dozen different things. Smoked, pickled, cured. Grilled and pickled veggies, etc.
On my grocery list again with another storm tomorrow. Loving the little persian cucumbers in all this chilly weather.
I suppose it reminds me of summer.

Smoked Salmon Tartare on Cucumber Rounds
Eric Akis, Everyone Can Cook for Celebrations

ü pound smoked salmon, finely chopped
3 Tablespoons finely chopped red onion
1 Tablespoons capers, finely chopped
1 Tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
Freshly ground black pepper to taste
2 teaspoons chopped fresh dill
20 English cucumber slices cut ý inch thick

Place the salmon, onion, capers, oil, lemon juice, mustard, pepper and dill in a bowl and gently mix to combine. Use a small spoon or melon baller to scoop out some of the center portion of each cucumber slice. Mound 2 teaspoons of the smoked salmon tartare in the center of each cumber slice and arrange on a serving tray.

Or just about anything on little squares of puff pastry...

I am confused....are you looking for hors d'oeuvres to go with drinks before dinner is served or appetizers as the first course?

If you need an appetizer a soup, salad would work and no cheese. Stuffed mushrooms can be made without cheese, shrimp cocktail in fancy glasses, smoked salmon with toast points all work well.

For an hors d'oeuvres, the dips with chips shown above work well, as do roasted salted nuts. ( I always think if Redd Foxx and his "horse divers")

Thanks everyone! I guess I should have been more specific in terms of how we will be eating these! Our house is tiny and we entertain fairly casually so I am looking for something to eat "out of hand" in the living room with a beer or glass of wine, not a formal sit-down appetizer. Thanks Olychick for that avocado hummus recipe - that might be the one! And I had forgotten I made a great caponata last fall with my only 2 eggplants so I might try that again too. Nancedar, we are having fruit and chocolate fondue for dessert!

Since I LOVE stuffed mushrooms I think I will do some with suasage and see how that goes!

Can of artichoke hearts packed in water
Thinly sliced ham

Quarter artichokes and marinate in good seasons Italian dressing.

Cut ham in strips, wrap around artichoke, secure with toothpick. Broil 1- 2 min. Just until heated through.

Janet, these are absolutely delicious bite size morsels

No detailed recipe. Line mini muffin tins with prosciutto and bake until crispy.....maybe 5 or 10 minutes.

Cool and fill with finely diced pears with a splash of lemon juice or, my favorite, finely diced apples mixed with just enough applesauce to keep then from going brown.

Ridiculously good for so simple.

Bruschetta on sliced toasted baguette...you can buy a jar or make your own.

You might try dried apricots with a dollop of mascarpone and a walnut or pecan half. They look lovely and mascarpone isn't really a cheese...it's whipped heavy cream that hasn't become butter yet.
