Hancock & Moore Leather Choices; Klaussner
Comments (10)I'm a Hancock and Moore dealer. Leather thickness on a sample has nothing to do with the hide thickness on the leather used on your piece made at H&M, don't go by thickness. Every leather in the line has some protection on it, even the 'unprotected' leathers. Choose the hide you want based on your lifestyle. If you want to eat meals and be able to spill drinks on your sofa, then one of the more serviceable leathers is preferable to ones marked 'unprotected'. Most people buying a sofa in this price range know how to take care of things, I have very few issues with customers unhappy with their unprotected leather choices. One thing else to note is fading. Direct sunlight ruins more leathers than spills. Keep aniline leathers out of direct sun or they will lose color rapidly. A little know fast about H&M. They are the only ones that will repair ANY of their upholstery no matter how old, for only the cost of materials. They never charge labor on repairs. Should you happen to ruin the facing deck panel, for example (cat claws, cuts, spills, etc) that's a $ 90 piece of leather, however every other company will put a $ 300 labor charge on top of it. Customer has to pay shipping of course, or otherwise get the piece to them in North Carolina. Hancock and Moore is also discontinuing their "Married Cover" promotion on June 1st. Anyone looking at these promotional hides in specific frames should order soon....See MoreHancock & Moore leather 'City Sofa' -- I have questions
Comments (44)I need help - I recently purchased 2 HM recliners - it's only been a few months but so far I really like them, though we have had an issue already with the cushions. The cushions we got were not the same ones that the chairs had in the store. But they are replacing them. After months of contemplating purchasing the Journey sofa & bringing home leather samples, all Class 2 (document and cavalier) we finally made the purchase this past Fri. night - bought the Journey Sofa in Cavalier Hunter Green - so excited-put the required 25% down and was told it would be 4 mos till it would be delivered. I was willing to wait that long because this is the sofa and color we really want. Unfortunately, today I got a call from the store and they said the leather I picked can only go on the City Sofa. I can only chose from Document she told me-otherwise if I want the Cavalier it will cost me $$$$$$ - I can't believe I find out after 2 mos of shopping at this store. I feel like it's bait and switch. Does anyone know where I can get the Journey Sofa with the Cavalier Hunter Green without paying out the wazoo!!! This shouldn't be so confusing and misleading. Now i need to stop the transaction and start the whole process over. Up until reading this no one at the store I've been working with ever mentioned this "married" issue of the leater and the sofa's. I'm so disappointed...See MoreHancock and Moore leather furniture: where to sell used pieces?
Comments (3)I'm in the Portland, Maine, area. 2 hours from Boston. Several years ago, my husband and I used to be mid-century-modern furniture dealers, and we often sold large pieces to people in other states. We used a company called Craters & Freighters (who carefully pack and insure and move furniture) and if I recall the prices weren't outrageous. Feel free to email me directly if you're interested and I can get you in touch with my mom....See MoreHancock & Moore Austin leather furniture
Comments (7)The Greenfront does ship nationwide. We bought the Austin Chair and a half (really about the size of a love seat) as well as a matching ottoman from them 2 years ago. Very good experience. They shipped via Tar Heel. No complaints whatsoever. We previously purchased the Austin sofa from Lexington Furniture in Lexington KY. All pieces are antelope saddle. When we purchased from Greenfront it had just changed from a level 3 to level 4 leather. That made the price go up ridiculously higher. They had a chair and a half in stock at the old level 3 price. We had to order the ottoman in antelope saddle. The ottoman turned out to be much more expensive than the chair and a half. We have subsequently purchased furniture for several more rooms from Greenfront. We love them. Complete master bedroom Henkel Harris emsemble, complete dining room H-H suite. All items arrived in perfect unblemished condition. We also bought rugs at Greenfront. The soumak is fine. The Oushaks are junk and started failing and pulling apart within 3 months. That's our only complaint, but it's a good lesson that you get what you pay for. Pony up for a good rug from a reputable local dealer....See Moredcollie
