Thanks everyone for your replies! Snooper, I called Concord Nurseries and they don't sell this tree anymore. He said the demand went down for it. He said that demand goes up and down for all trees and that the Globe Norway Maple is a great and hardy tree and good luck on finding it. Ken, I understand what you are saying about monocultures, but this is not a garden. I am lining one side of my property with the trees, not making a garden or anything close to it. This is our taste and just as I am sick and tired of seeing Crimson Kings and Red Maples up and down my road, i have to respect such property owner's taste. We happen to love the look of this tree and we also are happy it doesn't get too tall because of power line issues. I found a nursery in a nearby county who will be able to easily get the trees for me come spring. He said he sells the trees from time to time and that he personally likes them but their popularity waxes and wanes. I am very happy to be able to now put this tree searcg anxiety to rest. lol I am sorry to hear that you have had trouble locating items for so long. I am sure me griping about a few weeks must have come across as petulant and I apologize. I have never even planted a flower before so this is all knew to me. Just last week I planted grass seed and today saw some grass start to perk up through the grass seed. I felt like I had won the lottery. lol Hey, it's a start? Thank you for your link. I called them and they had 4 of them, but I need 5. One of the four was "bushier" than the other too she said. We want 5 from the same grower as I have heard that is better instead of buying one here and 3 from there.... Brandon, I will be babying these trees like you wouldn't believe; already looking at tree shelters and protectors for them. lol I won't let a pest issue even begin, but if it does I'll be on top of it so it won't get out of hand. I have been reading it is a pretty hardy tree.... rhizo, I can't believe more people don't love this tree, but people in Oregon and Canada (about 2 hours from here) are growing this tree all over the place so there IS demand somewhere, especially when the several places I called in Oregon only had a few left. We love the tree. It's the shape that makes it so beautiful imo. Everyone around here has the exact same thing so we look forward to providing a little variety for people. Misshenry, I called ForestFarm and yes they told me $39 for the tree and $85 for delivery for each tree. Considering the prices of some other trees we had earlier considered from nurseries around here, that were running $170-300 a tree, we considered FF's price, even with shipping, to be a bargain. Bboy, tell me how you really feel about the tree? lol You think it looks like the end result of mal pruning? Yikes. If you saw the moncoulture of all that is in my area you would long for something different. I think Crimson Kings and Red Maples, all Oaks, and Christmas trees grown for privacy, which is done all the time around here, one of the most yawn-inducing things you can do to your yard, but like in all things, your mileage may vary. I was directed to nurseryguide.com by a grower which led me to a grower in OR which then they gave me a list of growers in my area that ordered from them and the rest is history. claybabe, I would say go for a stacking FL set. If you are willing to change a few laundry habits and learn how to use a FL, you won't have any problems getting clothes clean. The fact that you are reading and posting here shows that you are open to suggestions and tipps, so I think you are a great candidate to make the switch. I grew up in Germany where TL with agitators don't even exist. When I moved here, I had the "privilege" to use a TL for a few years. The only thing I liked about them is how fast they finished a load. But that was about it...they just didn't clean well, tore several strings out of pants and shirts, ruined some bras...and I just hated the amount of water and detergents/additives needed to do a load of laundry. A typical load with my FL takes about an hour. The clothes come out clean and without any nasty odors. An extra rinse would add about 15 minutes, but is hardly ever needed/used. Some posters say that an extra rinse negates any water savings, but that is far from the truth. It takes about 4 gallons which adds up to a total of 18 gallons per load. A TL uses almost 25 gallons per fill which is 50 gallons if you do just one rinse! I think the mixed reviews for FLs are mainly due to user errors. Using too much detergent and liquid fabric softener is probably the most common mistake which leads to nasty buildup and musty smells. My washer is 18 months old now and doesn't have the slightest hint of mold. I don't do clean washer cycles or any extra maintenance. I just leave the door open and use hot cycles about once a week. Couldn't be happier with it. Our water usage in the winter is between 2000 and 3000 gallons per month for a household of three. That equals the city's minimum usage! Sorry for the long post. If there is mowed lawn surrounding the fence then most vines will be stopped from spreading by the mower. Then it's not too big a deal that a vine has some aggressive tendencies (within reason.) I'm not familiar with plants that would be exclusively west coast. But some that work in the east coast (besides English ivy) might be Virginia creeper (which I don't think is any less vigorous than E. ivy) or creeping fig (also vigorous once established.) Some vines in the Clematis family, overall, might be less vigorous in regard to invasiveness, and worth considering. But they would probably benefit by help in climbing support at the beginning. Once they reach the top they would have no trouble staying so I don't think helping them is the annoyance you think it is. I would use 1/4" cord attached to fence top and stakes in the ground, spaced at intervals, instead of 2" x 2" stakes.

You claimed its nothing new. Ive never seen a lawn fertilizer that has all that in the bag. Taking common fertilizers and a little bit of soil amendments, mixing them together and charging 4 times the price doesn't make it something new. I disagree about the bio char(it not charcoal)I have read alot of info that bio char makes the soil good. Maybe you can share some of that research. I'm very interested to find out how applying a few pounds of "biochar" on the soil surface over 18,000 sq. ft "makes the soil good". I am gonna spend $65 for a bag, Not $50. Well there's about $15 worth of stuff in there(urea, ammonium sulfate, potassium sulfate, humic acid, some kelp extract) , so I was talking about the other $50 which is basically wasted money. Which is your choice, I just don't know why you'd come here and encourage other people to waste their money when there's clearly much better ways to spend it on things that will actually make a difference for you lawn. But it sounds like you're emotionally invested in this product, so if it feels good to spend $65 on something you could get for $15, go for it. Must be alot of misinformed people because carbon x is selling out fast! Could be, or maybe they only had like 20 bags to sell. But if people are misinformed, that's what we're here for - to help them make informed decision.
