Last year I waited until Palatine had their new catalog up, then I placed the order with them that same day, then I started working on the other orders. I did it that way because Palatine's roses do better for me than most other roses and I wanted to be sure I get the ones I want. I like to be done (or mostly done) by the end of January. If Roses Unlimited has a rose that you need that you are sure you can't get or don't want to get from anywhere else then go ahead and order it now. For most places it is better to wait for their new catalog to be available so you can make an informed decision about what you want to get in case there is something new that would be better than something you might otherwise order. Most places do let you add to an order without any trouble. So if you're sure you want something that may sell out, go ahead and order it after you check their order policy. I know I've added roses to orders from Ashdown and Heirloom, and I considered adding to orders from Palatine and Roses Unlimited so I'm fairly certain that all of those will do it without problems.

I wish I knew how to use photoshop and I could help you, though I still struggle with my table top decor. Squirel has been helpful to me Ps'ing plants in my living room, which is probably why I have more there today than I would've otherwise. If would look very nice with a fern below in a wicker type pot in case the cat knocks it over. Would she play with the leaves? Here are a few pics of my entryway which you can see is also rectangular and a very awkward space to decorate. It's too big to leave complete empty, but I cannot put much there without it feeling cramped. My table location is not ideal as you see the side view more often than not. I may add a rug in front of the door (if I ever get around to choosing my LR/DR rugs) plus I may add a pic on the wall opposite the entry table. In this pic you can see what I mean about the mirror reflecting the wall decor so you get a double benefit: For the table decor items, you can find some interesting items at Home Decorators, Michaels, Kohl's, Linen's 'n Things, etc. and Lowe's or a nursery is a good place to find plants and a wicker type planter. Also you need to think about what you want to put on the walls before finalize the table decor so that one does not block another, unless it's a mirror as the mirror can reflect the item (like the backside of a lamp or flowers). Are you thinking of painting your entry? Perhaps the same color as your LR? It would look nice in some of the green shades you were considering for your LR or alternatively a tan/gold color that compliments it? How about your drapes?

I was in your position once also. i found a leather look vinyl fabric at Joanns and bought the entire bolt from their Red Spot to make slip covers for my dining parsons chairs. I ran short. I needed about 2 yds more. None at that store, none at the neighboring stores. i had a SKU number from my receipt. None at Joanns on line. The store manager even searched out if state. i searched the internet and finally found the name. Apparently, Joanns buys out overages. My fabric came from a cruiseline that upholstered their furniture and this was leftover. i wrote the cruise company but never got a reply. on another note of hope, theres a store in NJ, The Fabric Warehouse. They sell on line as well. If you have the name, check with them. They stock many fabrics at great prices.

Thanks. As a designer, I think of the entire room, so glad you are looking at that. The right balance of colors and contrast is important in a space, in my opinion. I appreciate you sharing your future plans for the console, as that fits into the larger decision. What I am seeing now is that the fireplace color is not relating to anything. Pardon me if you mentioned, but why is it painted that color? What I recommend always is to post a photo of what you want the room to look like. You have described it somewhat, but a photo is best. You: "I would've loved an all white/light space but i have to work with the furniture i currently have." Without more information, I recommend painting the fireplace a rich taupe or deep brown to work with your art, rug and future plans. With the neutral art above it, it will command a larger presence. Also, you will be able to frame the art in a lighter color, as you want. Always work toward the future, instead of trying to match what you don't like in a space. If you are going to go with slipcovers, adding a darker tone to the fireplace will add a nice contrast .
