Bump! My contractor is recommending the same thing (or Synteko Classic at same price) so I want some feedback

My contractor is recommending Pallmann ( Pall-X 96) as well! I found this topic when I was searching for information about it. Did you go with it? How do you like it? Thanks!

One could check over at the forum on the NWFA magazine. I've seen Pallman recommended quite a bit. It's oriented more towards trades people but you might learn something useful.

We used the matte finish. Our floors are red oak. Our cabinets are factory painted gray, so there's a little sheen to them, and our counters are Cambria Parys quartz, so there's a lot of shine there. We didn't want shine on the floor too; thus the matte finish.

We just had our Australian cypress floors refinished a few months ago. We have dogs, so after a lot of discussion with our contractor and floor finishers, they recommended Pallman. After it was on the floor for a month, we had some finishing electrical work. The worker was using his knee pad protectors, but where he crawled, it left terrible rub marks on the floors. We had the whole surface refinished again.

After six months, we find that the floor has faded, it scratches easily, the surface is so soft , we are afraid to walk on it and don't let anything rub on the floor! We are very DISAPPOINTED with this product, and would not recommend it. i am so disappointed in the floor, and do not know what to do right now.

I have just had this product put on my floors and six days after the final coat of water based poly was applied I also am having the clear scuff marks all over the floor after having my contractors back in to finish painting, etc. I had my floor guy back out and he was Willing to buff them again and apply another coat. We are 2 days out from that now 4th coat and I walked on it today in my socks and went to a corner and scratched it with my fingernail and it scratched. I know it’s not cured yet but should that happen at all. I’m so nervous about it. I’m sorry youve had this experience and are so disappointed. This is not comforting to hear. What can we do? I live in texas. What area are you in ?

I am in Washington State. We too also have contacted our contractors, had the floor re-sanded and more of the Pallmann coating put on it. Our contractors have completed their work and as far as they are concerned, they fixed the problem. We are now living on floors that don't look like like floors were refinished. I really do not like this product and strongly advise people to not use it.

I really don't know what to do. I am at the point where I want to tear out all the wood floors and replace them, but we can't afford that. I guess we will just have to live with them, and then in a few years think about the best options at that time...

We are a week out on the 4th coat of Poly. a few days ago i contacted the National wood floor association to get their advice. They advised me to baby the heck out of my floors the best we could for 30 days as it takes that long to fully cure. I still have touch ups and a final clean to be done which is happening this weekend. We are going to protect floors best as possible with ram board and see what happens. After that we are not moving our furniture back in until dec 9th. So I’m trying to be optimistic but I’ll keep you posted. I am so so sorry you’re disappointed after having another coat put on. G & S Flooring asked to see pictures and said maybe they can help. I would love to see pictures as well. I have a gash/dent in my floor due to someone dropping a tool. It was “fixed” best as possible And was smooth a couple days after last coat but as of yesterday it had formed a hard edge around perimeter of gash/dent and was very soft in the middle As if the poly hardened in some places but not fully. I don’t know. I’m frustrated but can’t afford to start over with the whole process due to cost and time. Good luck and keep us posted. I’ll do the same.

We just had our 1st floor removated and the contractor refinished the floor, stained and then used PALL-96 NEXGEN We babied it for 5 full weeks - we wore socks in the house, carried our dogs for 2 weeks then , bought/used socks for them, no furniture … We thought we were safe - NO There are scratches from 2 (27 lb) dogs dogs, scuffmarks from contractor… They are going to ” to screen the floors with a new topcoat to eliminate the scratches and to put in a durable top coat for you. ”

I have zero knowledge about refinishing floors Does this seem like a good solution? My impression was that PALLMANN was a good brand.

Any recommendations on better more durable finishes?

So sorry for the troubles with your floor. It’s so frustrating as I’ve been there. A new wood floor should not have to be babied as you and I both had to do with floors finished with Pallmann products. I had mine done and redone so many times that the polyurethane started peeling due to temperature change and expansion. I had to hire a new company to completely resand mine and start over. I ended up going with Bona polyurethane in a satin finish. And we had furniture back in and walking and “living” like normal a week later. I personally do not recommend Pallmann products simply due to my bad experience. I do know that if your floors are not a smooth finish and have been roughed up then doing a screen is not the best route to go because the machine they use can’t get in all the grooves and the floor has bumps and different heights and screening is not recommended. I had a floor guy screen mine and he shouldn’t have due to my floors not being smooth. Needless to say I’ve not had good luck overall with wood flooring but am ok now after so many attempts. Have used Pallmann X-96 to cover doors after the oil Escaro.

Escaro very dark oil, dried, and pall x-96 over it.

The surface is really Soft as it was told. It's OK on doors but as for floors - something stronger is wanted.

Once I've used Pallmann Magic Oil 2k - Good. Strong. A lady in heavy boots made steps there, everything is fine.

Now I will be trying pallmann Zero. it's the strongest one

Material - the Oak Tree.

Also, used Pall x-96 to cover racks in the wardrobe room, also used it to cover a kichen table.

Withot escaro before it. The tree soaked a lot of Pall-x-96. A conclusion - a surface is really soft.

It's ok for racks in wardrobe room, doors, kithen table for eating, etc.

I use Pall x-96 because it has really low emissions, for it's ecology.

It's not stinky.

But as for the floor, yes, I suggest Magic oil 2K on oak tree floors or

(Didn't try yet) Pallmann zero, will try in 3 weeks
