Craftsman Garage Door Opener, neither remote works
Comments (83)I got a problem with my garage opener in past few days. I can close the door when I leave for work but cannot open the door when I come home. At first I thought the trouble is caused by cold weather. Then I thought is the board gone bad. However, when I get the remote close to the antena, everything works fine. Finally I observe that my garage door open/close indicater(Made by Craftsman) both lights are flashing(red and green). Therefore I disconnet the AC power on the receiver then test out the garage door remote. Surprisely, everything works like a charm. The trouble is caused by the unit that attached to the garage door runs out the battery. I bet the receiver unit was sending signal to find the door unit consistenly which interferences the signal of garage door remote control, including my keypad door opener. After I replace the battery on the door unit, everything is back to normal. Just want to share with anyone who has the same situation. Signal interference will cause the trouble to remote control....See More1/2 HP Sears garage remote stopped working for one door?
Comments (2)Sure sounds like the receiver has quit working. It is part of the logic board and is expensive but at 12 years old it may be best to replace the opener. If you do opt for a new opener be advised that the remotes will not operate your old opener....See MoreCraftsman garage door opener wall remote not working
Comments (24)I have a problem with my liftmaster 1/2 hp. My house was built in 2005 but im not sure what year the opener is, but my remotes do not work and my hard wire button doesnt work but is blinking. My sensors that detect objects in the way still blinks if i put my leg or something in the way but light bulb on the lifter itself doesnt work and it is a good bulb. and i plugged other objects like a fan or charger or something in that outlet on the ceiling that the lifter is plugged in at and it works. when i unplug the lifter the hard wire button light goes out and when i plug it back up it continues to blink still. What do i need to do?...See MoreCraftsman 139.53600 Opener, 3 button remote stopped after battery
Comments (1)My suggestion is you trade a few bucks for a fast upgrade that takes the old remote out of the picture. You can buy a new receiver at most home centers that has all the high security feature, comes with one or two remotes, and will work with the transmitters built into many newer vehicles. You wire it into the old power head as if it were a wall button. It's neat, easy, secure, and fairly cheap. Worth considering provided the power head is in good shape. Since it just wires in like the wall switch, any brand will work. One example is Chamberlain Universal Radio Control Replacement Kit, $57 at Lowes. Note: Safety regs get stricter all the time. Newer units may have less range by design, but still work....See Moredon_1_2006
