kevdp4- It is interesting to me that you bring up that many fabricators do not do miters. I am finding our fabricator is very resistant to mitering. When I brought it up her excuse was- "well it's too expensive so nobody does it so we don't do it". Yeah. I'm a bit frustrated. Our kitchen is a new construction build so I'm fairly locked in to this fabricator as our builder's preferred vendor. I'm more than a tad nervous, however my designer insists that they've never had a problem with this fabricator in the 6 years she has been working with them. They were also resistant when I brought up (after Trebuchet's advice) doing a 1/2 radius on the sink edges to reduce chipping. Same response about "too expensive, we don't do it" Well that's crap because a 1/2 radius is a STANDARD edge option with them. So I don't get it. Is that kind of edge option really hard in a sink vs on the counter edge? How does a positive reveal of a sink affect doing the 1/2 radius at the sink?

Only you know if you like the shiny finish or not. The pics look good, and the lifetime warranty is certainly reassuring (better than many wood cabinet companies would give!). I know at one of the showrooms I was looking at, that I couldn't tell that some of the cabinets were not wood. If you are going with white subway tiles and a cream floor, I'd look for something with more pizazz for the counters. There is such a thing as too safe! Do you have any inspiration pics? Something where you can see your vision in real life? I am going with very similar colours,(in fact I bet my Interior doors are similar to yours-(mine are two panel beadboard). I am planning on white beadboard cabinets for my basement vanity with a fairly neutral floor, and white fixtures. But my granite has colour, and though I probably will pick a fairly neutral tile, I will use some colour accents, and of course you can perk things up in a bathroom with towels and rugs, etc.

Thanks for the suggestions thus far, and sorry for my late acknowledgement/response. The cabinets aren't yet installed, so I can't yet provide a context photo. We've gone through the Wilsonart deck, and have narrowed it down to these possibilities: The floor will be polished concrete (gray); hence the top 4 which are grayish to tie in with the floor. The 3 in the middle are nice browns, but I don't know if they'll work with a gray floor. The 4 on the bottom are brownish, but have some gray in them to hopefully bridge the gap. I should mention, this will be a break room in a factory, shared by both office and production workers, though most of the production workers are smokers, so take breaks outside after getting their food from the fridge/warming it in the microwave. Thoughts?

Jennifer, I don't see it as dated either. And I live in New York. :) I'm another one who can not throw out perfectly good cabinets. It has nothing to do with money, and everything to do with I'm just not going to throw out perfectly fine wood cabinets. If they were damaged, or broken, or so cheap they're starting to come apart at the seams, then sure. I bought a beach home (2nd home) and I'm struggling with this same dilemma. The counters are worn. The cabinets there are fine. So I'm having new granite put on top of my "dated" cabinets, will put a fresh coat of paint and a new backsplash in and will call it done, and be perfectly happy. I like granite. I also like Corian. I've had both and they each have their pros and cons. I second (or is it third?) the advice to just go shopping. Look at the various options, touch them, and hopefully it will help you decide. But I salute you for not worrying about "dated." Heavens above that concept irks me. If someone personally cares about "dated", then that's fine and people can offer opinions about what is dated for hours on end. But nothing about your post indicated you cared about that concept, nor that your cabinets were garbage and needed to be replaced. Bless you for accepting somewhat rude commentary with such aplomb. :)
