I was going to say green tones, but can you post a pic of the cabinets in the space?

Choose the black laminate that looks like black slate. No one will ever wipe those counters and keep them spotless.

The Wilsonart site has a feature where you can input light maple cabinets after choosing a group of Laminate and shows what works with it. I don't like all their choices, but I did like Bengal Slate and Brush Park Column. I had natural maple in our last kitchen and looked at green also, but I ended up liking a somewhat dark brown leaf pattern which I just loved. It was called fallen leaves by Formica, but has been discontinued.

I just saw the IKEA concrete look laminate. Really, really nice.

I put black speckled on mine. I also got beveled edges instead of round so it doesn't look so ... laminate-y.

Thanks for the suggestions thus far, and sorry for my late acknowledgement/response. The cabinets aren't yet installed, so I can't yet provide a context photo.

We've gone through the Wilsonart deck, and have narrowed it down to these possibilities:

The floor will be polished concrete (gray); hence the top 4 which are grayish to tie in with the floor.

The 3 in the middle are nice browns, but I don't know if they'll work with a gray floor.

The 4 on the bottom are brownish, but have some gray in them to hopefully bridge the gap.

I should mention, this will be a break room in a factory, shared by both office and production workers, though most of the production workers are smokers, so take breaks outside after getting their food from the fridge/warming it in the microwave.

Thoughts?

I like number 3, row 4. goes with maple. will go with the concrete. has movement enough to be less sterile/crumbs etc less visible. gives a feeling of warmth (otherwise I'd say number 4 in row 1..but too cold..mood-wise. it's a break room..should be softer, especially given factory, concrete and all)

Better yet try to put the door vertically, laminate samples-perpendicular to it..as they will be installed..angle changes how the light falls, how the light falls changes how the colors look to us. You'll see everything closer to how it will be IRL..easier to make the decision

If you use #1 in row 3, it will hide a heap of drips and coffee grounds that always get left behind!

I'm gonna throw something incredibly gross out there. At my work where we have a break room, we've had issues with a mouse getting in. I personally wouldn't want too much movement in the countertop to prevent anyone from seeing little mouse presents left behind.

I have natural maple cabinets. Something to keep in mind, my cabinets mellowed over the years....I noticed within the first few years how different in color they had become. My cabinets looked like your sample. It is now a very golden color and I am in the process of replacing them for this reason. I can still see the natural color on the face frame where the drawers and draws sit.

I currently have dark (black) granite composite counters with specs of copper, green and solid black.

I would stick with something dark. I like the top left 3 grays.

bottom row...number one or number three from the left [prefer larger scale stone/granite appearance with light maple]

I think you need some contrast, so top row, left three (my preferred choice would be second or third from left), or bottom row, first one from left (although I prefer less movement).

Graveyard of the Atlantic, because, well, how did the marketing department let that name slip out?!

Plus, it is a great color, not too dark, not too light, and not fake stone.
