beveled edge wood floor -- how to keep clean?

I am considering a plank (5.4 inch wide) white oak panel engineered with beveled edges. Pretty sure they are not "micro bevel". My question is how do you keep the bevels clean? It looks like dirt and junk (kid and dog) will get stuck in there. I have read canister vacums are good, but how can you get into the crevices? This floor will also be in my tiny kitchen. Please give me some advice. Is this a horrible cleaning mistake? I am not a super tidy. The wood is light so I am concerned the dirt will become more pronouced over the years. Help? Do others with older floors with dirt look okay? Carol avivacarol@aol.com
