DWR Albert Sectional vs. Angelo Sectional

I fell in love with a modern sectional called Albert sectional from the Design within Reach store. I love it in an ivory leather. The only problem is that is way too expensive selling at $5700. Even the sale price is too much for my budget.

While I was browsing on the internet I noticed another sofa called the Angelo Sectional on a modern decor furniture website. The website says it is an "alphaville" design??? It appears to be the exact same sectional, though thousands of dollars less. Is this too good to be true? Has anyone ever heard of this sectional or alphaville designs? Is the quality good?

I too love the Albert sectional at DWR. I hope to purchase it during their next upholstery sale. The Albert is made by American Leather. The $5700 sectional is the Vienna leather, which is not a protected leather. They also offer the Albert in the Sierra leather, which is a protected leather. I have kids and a dog and plan to go with the protected leather. I sat in the Albert in Sierra at one of their stores and found the leather wonderfully comfortable.

I am not familiar with Alphaville, but the Angelo does indeed look just like the Albert. I am not certain, but the description made it sound as if the ottoman makes for the sectional instead of a chaise as in the Albert. It says it allows you to switch between a left and right facing section.

I am leaning toward the Albert- Sierra in the cream color. I have never purchased a light leather before. I loved the feel and look of the lighter ivory color in Vienna. However, I prefer a leather that is more durable and like you indicated, the sierra is protected.

The Angelo looks nice on the website, but I haven't heard anything about this sectional and am a little weary. In NY, DWR had a promotion and told me that if I spend $5000, then I will receive $1000 off, with free shipping. The promotion runs until April 30th in case you are interested. Since the Sierra is listed at $4900, in order to get the $1000 off, you have to purchase something else for $100 to total $5000.

Hello everyone, I am a Great Basin cottage gardener in Salt Lake City, new to GardenWeb. Enjoyed reading these posts and thought I would encourage those in the SLC area to visit the Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District Demonstration Gardens (83rd S. and 1300 W.). They have a number of types of gardens and turf alternatives that are geared to our high desert area, that vary in amount of water needed and "look". They have a plant list for every garden area and the gardens are gorgeous. Gives you some great ideas for planting things that are likely to succeed and keep your watering needs low. They also will come to your home--for FREE--and test your existing sprinkling system and tell you how to adjust your watering times and locations to provide adequate coverage and not waste water. I don't work there but I have been there several different times and it is a great place. So GB-er's check it out. And BTW, I am gauralady because it is such a great plant and I love the way it blooms so long and moves so beautifully in a summer breeze.

Hello all, I really like the Albert Sectional at DWR. I am told it is made by American Leather. Just wondering if anyone can tell me how the sectional holds up. Also, I saw the Kendall Section on AL's own website that is very similar, but larger, probably too large for me. Does anyone know if it is available in a smaller configuration? Thank you!

sus I didn't read the above responses - so pardon in advance if this is redundant. If you are definitely going to be there for 7yrs, you decide how you would like your home to be during that time. Do pros/cons of relocating - then move on. If you leave laundry there - think vertical! Yes, look into stacking units make sure you have all the space & clearances necessary to do so - ck and double check, it's not just the dimensions of the machines but the duct work for dryer, hook ups for washer - & enough height in the area I would consider making or purchasing a nice panel drapery there that can easily be pulled aside to do laundry - **Do I see pocket doors? closed up when complete. Also, vertical on shelves storage - creative ways of making that little space more efficient - how often do you iron? do you have another spot to dash the board. I would only have what is absolutely daily use in that area. oldbat2be, thanks for the compliments and the photoshopping! My architect might make timberframe style work in the front, but it is a bit of a stretch! While there will be a bump out on the front (16' section will be 4' deeper than the rest of the overhang), I don't think it's enough to carry off the timberframe look. It's hard to tell from the pic, but there's plenty of vertical space to give the gable a good pitch without interfering with the windows. When we replace the windows in a few years we'll give them substantial trim, but still no shutters. And, yes, we've got a nice solar system, and the power company now pays us, instead of the reverse! :) Annie, I just love your house. The exterior has architectural interest without looking confused. Just lovely. And no maintenance: that's the holy grail!! laughable, I didn't know you could get a freelance aluminum wrapper, interesting! However... DH seems reconciled to a little exterior work. While not willing to spend so much on Azec as to go whole hog, he's thinking about a hybrid approach, which is what we did on the back of the house. So probably Azec wrapped beefy posts, composite decking, and then painted railings and spindles. At least all the painting will be at a nice height that way.

Yes, I saw that promo too. The thing is that I also want to order the Flight recliner, so I'd be better off waiting for the upholstery sale to get 20%, instead of just $1000. I like the black leather for the sectional and am undecided on the Flight recliner. I don't know if I should stick with the black (too boring?) or go for something contrasting. Decisions, decisions.... By the way, during the last upholstery sale, special order leathers, including the Vienna, were 25% off.
