My fiance and I recently bought a couch and recliner by DeCoro. The couch will not arrive for another 3 months, but we were able to take the recliner home with us. While we were traveling home the chair "escaped" and flew off the back end of our truck onto the interstate!!! We pulled off the road expecting our new beautiful chair to be destroyed. We quickly picked it up and put the two "detachable" halves back together and the chair was structurally sound! The only damage was cosmetic and fixable by a leather technician. This brand is amazing! The chair flew out at 60 mph and only sustained some scuffs!!!

Patrushka ma, Im not sure I can help you, but you have instead hopefully helped many others to beware of this problem in the furniture industry. This is not uncommon, sorry to say. A number of retailers, especially online retailers, will say they carry brands that are actually just copies made in China. And your correct, I have seen a number of manufactures leave China for Cambodia and Myanmar, always chasing the lowest labor costs their is. These companies really dont care about the quality their selling. They will cover up a cheap frame with a leather that ever bits feels like genuine top grain leather, and these leather tanners are getting pretty good taking the poorest hides and making them look and feel of better hides. Only a real expert can tell the difference. The difference will be a year or so of use. Also their are some very well know brands that are either cutting and sewing and/or upholstery knock-down frames in Asia, shipping to Mexico to add the mechanisms then finishing the upholstery. This happens for about 60% of the motion furniture for sale today and its a growing trend. Thats why I always suggest, only buy motion if really dont like stationary. Support your local US built manufacturers that build quality furniture and support the community they live in with decent jobs.

1. Most reclining mechanisms have lifetime warranties. After the initial period, it's parts only, not labor. My personal recliner is 28 years old, original mech and heavily used. No problems. Earlier this year, I saw two matching recliners and the mechanisms were trash after 18 months. I have never seen them self-destruct so fast. The footrest was nearly 2" out of position. I've also had other minor problems such as bad fit (interference of parts), broken springs, broken frames leading to mech damage, and sheared bolts. Most of the time, there are not a lot of repairable parts on them because they are all riveted together and a worn hole is not repairable, so the whole mech is replaced. 2. Urine on leather: If it is aniline or semi-aniline leather (AKA Unfinished), it has no or minimal top coating (sealer). Urine soaks into these and stains. Very difficult to remove completely and usually more color will conceal it, sometimes somewhat. Finished (AKA top-coated) leather has an opaque color coat and a clear sealer. Urine cleans off this fairly well, but might run down and soak in stitching, fabric side panels, or decking. These are usually cleanable by upholstery cleaning processes. But if it soaks into the foam or Dacron, it is difficult to get out. Scheduled treatment with a conditioner will help repel stains. It's been a while since I read the contracts, but I seem to remember that if it's something covered by homeowner's insurance, then that's excluded (that would be the smoke, fire, vandalism, water damage, etc.) I have repaired an occasional tobacco ember damage or spilled over candle. I have denied service when one end of the piece to the other was covered in tobacco ember melts (accumulated, and after the first few, no longer "unexpected.") But I can only talk from the technician's point of view, not the underwriters'

Go buy those large disposable pads for the elderly / others with issues- they are like a flat disposable diaper - plastic one side &absorbing white on the other. My dear sweet greyhound had these bladder issues and our Natuzzi sofa survived by using these pads. Her claws were another story. She did scratch the seat cushions. If your dog is used to getting up on the sofa, trying to keep him / her off in the later years is impossible & upsetting to the dog. My greyhound was more upset by the accidents then we were. Sadly, she had bladder cancer so it was often & alot. Good Luck.
