Have concrete slab and arthritis - need flooring advice.

We have Pergo installed in our kitchen and foyer. Underneath it is concrete slab.

We have to replace the floor because of water damage due to a plumbing leak.

We have had the Pergo for only a few months. I hate the loud noise that occurs any time something falls on the floor. I have a 90-lb. dog and 4 100-lb. children, all of whom are very active and contribute to the noise level.

I want to replace it with either cork or linoleum.

I want a floor that does not make so much noise *and* that is not hard on my arthritic joints.

It seems to me that a glued-down linoleum or cork floor would be pretty hard to stand on because it has concrete underneath it. Am I correct about this?

If that's so, then I have to get another floating floor (engineered hardwood is out -- it won't go with the Pergo that is in two adjacent rooms).

Are the marmoleum click or cork floating floorss just as noisy as the Pergo? Are they softer to stand on than glue-down floors and tile?

Would sheet vinyl flooring be the best choice for my knees, hips and back?

Thanks for your help.
