Need Preway Fireplace Pipe

I am in need of a chimney pipe for a preway fireplace. Mine was destroyed in Hurricane Katrina. Please reply if you have the parts or know where I might could find it. Thank you for your time

I believe they went out of biz in the late 90's. You will have to find it used. There is a recycle place here in boulder colorado that sometimes have it. they might ship. the place is called resource 2000. you can google them.

I wouldn't put sand in unless the fireplace manual says to do so. We have a gas fireplace that has the gas outlet holes on the bottom of the unit. The expert at the local fireplace store said that we should only use vermiculite to simulate glowing coals but to be careful NOT to cover the gas holes. Our daughter has a different model of fireplace and the manufacturer specifies using sand. However her's is designed to hold sand in a sand pan. I believe her gas outlets are also designed differently. Talk to an expert.

some can and some cant, you need to pick a model and look at the manual. Inside the manual is a venting graph, it tells you how far horizontal you can go for every feet of verticle. If the graph is confusing, talk to the dealer, they can likley help.
