Dedtired, I guess I missed your original comment...would you mind repeating it? (I'm always wondering what I missed...) I'm happy to say that after a serious ''breaking in'', I'm in love with my bed. (Yes, they really do need to be broken in.) It did take a bit of getting used to, but I expected as much, and now I don't want to sleep anywhere else. I will say that the extra pillow top was the thing that made this particular one work best for me, but dlynn, if your son likes the cheapest bed, that's the one he'll be happy with. Remember...they're already broken in at the store, but won't be when it first arrives. (I bought a namebrand, ''Celebrity'' Tempur-Pedic.) Jessy, I'm sorry you're not in love with yours. I suspect it's hard to compromise on...firmness...when two people share a bed. ;)

I've had Vanguard sectionals and couches for years and absolutely love the quality and comfort. I've also had a King Hickory sectional with attached pillows and they absolutely did tear over time. The cushions did not hold up more than 5 years -- unless you like sag. I've also had Drexel Heritage couches that looked saggy after time as well. Never had that issue with Vanguard -- I just bought an American Bungalow down sectional with loose pillows and absolutely love it. Two people (and my husband is 6'3") can completely stretch out on it. The name of the craftspeople who upholstered it, built it and inspected it are on a tag that is affixed to the frame -- 3 or four names. That's in my living room. I recently moved a large Vanguard sofa with two loose top cushions and two seat cushions from my living room into my family room to make room for the new sectional. I've had this sofa for 10 years and it looks and feels brand new. Totally love.

scot, all of that info is indeed available, however you unfortunately will not find one easy source with all of the info. Okna and Himark have all of the relevant energy numbers (u-factor, air leakage, design pressure, etc) posted right on their website. If you want verifiable data rather than just trusting the pros that post here, you can get all of the thermal data from NFRC.org. For Structural data (Air leakage, dp, etc), you can request a structural data test report from each manufacturer (or from one of their dealers, as some manufacturers won't deal directly with consumers). On STC, that is something that you'll need to get in that manner as well. I'd confirm mmarsel's sentiments, that those are indeed elite choices that you are considering. Thanks for that info, HomeSealed. So, I wonder if this will come into play. My vendor is officially a Vanguard dealer, but not a Soft-Lite dealer. When this stupidity with the grid color came up so late in the process (contract signed, installer measured, order in process of being entered), I contacted Soft-Lite, heard back from their southern and western sales manager, who agreed to let their distributor work with my vendor. Apparently, they don't have a dealer here, but were recently starting to look for one. Anyway, if I don't have an official Soft-Lite dealer here, could I have problems on any warranty matters that might arise?
