should we get unfinished or prefinished brazilian walnut

I have been looking at different hardwoods for weeks now trying to decide what to get. It will be put down in a living room and dining room. I really wanted to get BR111, but I got a sample and to me it seemed to scratch easily and they were very apparant. We were thinking of getting unfinished brazilian walnut (from Hurst hardwoods) and using Waterlox or something similar to finish it. We have come to that decision mainly because it would be easier to touch up than poly or a prefinished floor. We may install it ourselves, but we are not opposed to hiring a professional if you guys think it is something we shouldn't take on.

We don't have any dogs, nor do we wear shoes in the house....but we do have 3 kids;) We really need to get this flooring bought so we have ample time to acclimate it before installation. I never knew choosing a floor would be so difficult! Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!
