Do I want a 'media center' on my fridge?
Comments (11)I wouldn't do it; it's likely to break, especially being so near to water. It could possibly take space from the refrigerator. Keep things as simple as possible. I do have a recycled Mac laptop computer in the kitchen, paired with some older Soundstick speakers. Even tho it is 5 years old, it still can access the net, store and display recipes, display thousands of photos in a screensaver slideshow, play my music, or stream AM radio. It sits in the corner on an aluminum stand that gets it up off the counter....See Morecorner entertainment center
Comments (5)Tonda, we too are looking for a corner entertainment center... we want a light honey pine unit to fit our present 27" television, and another unit (identical in size and look, but not necessarily the same shelf/cabinet configuration as the one for the tv)... We have certain limitations regarding size...one side only has 30" depth... so it will have to be bumped out a bit to accommodate our 27" tv - it's an older sony, not a new flat screen)... SO, we will be looking into having it built CUSTOM. I've been looking around online - Kate Madison Furniture (Katemadision.com) will do custom work to their existing items, but I think I'm going to look into a local cabinet maker to see if it may be easier to work with someone more convenient - rather than deal with someone far awy. Good luck... let us know what you come up with!...See MoreEntertainment Consoles??
Comments (36)I just picked up a chinahutch . The bottom of this particular one would make a perfect place to set a flat screen on or above. In our area china hutchs are free or not much more than $100 . Expanding your search to include hutchs might be a good option for you as well. I have another much more elaberate hutch so when I saw this one on the side of the road with a free sign on it I passed it buy then though better of it and turned around a looked it over. Its solid oak has a perfect finish ,a very plain square design. I am going to paint the top to match my daughters furnature and it will go in her room and the bottom will go in the craft room....See MoreHelp with Entertainment Center
Comments (39)What a difference with the lights on! That's terrific. I would leave the airplane on the right where it is and center under the light, all by itself. I would move the bi-wing plane to the top shelf, though I'd stack some "coffee table" books underneath it to give it the appropriate height. Keep the clock on the side of a short stack of books. Use an object in front of other books and get a decorative book end to highlight another stack. Use the depth of the bookcases to your favor by placing some objects in front of others so your arrangement becomes 3-d. Something like this... I made the center arrangement with strict symmetry given the bookcases and the lights, but you can easily do a more asymmetric or casual arrangement if you want. I used a woven basket and ceramics to add color and texture, but those are just suggestions...there are many ways you can go with it. Note too that the blue and red in the objects are repeated in the book spines. When making your arrangement, think about scattering similar colors around to tie it together....See Morekitchen_girl
