old wood parquet tiles loose - worried sick about asbestos!

Hi-

We are in a home built in 1979-1980. I know that 1978 was the "magic year" when asbestos was no longer supposed to be used in major ways in homes. But I also have read that it was still in some products. This house has 6" wood parquet flooring, most of which is in good shape. In one main room, however, some strips of parquet tiles are loose. My preschoolers have found them, and I have glued them back down. Now, however, I am worried sick that the mastic used to glue the parquet to the concrete floor contained asbestos. Have my children (and I) been exposed? I am fretting endlessly that I have allowed them into harm's way.

We are putting an area rug down, but I am truly worried it is too late to prevent some level of exposure. Any feedback would be really helpful! I saw a similar post about tiles in a basement, but I wasn't sure it is the same as wood parquet. Many thanks!
