Hardwood, how can I boost the shine without refinishing

I have 10 year old hardwood flooring, not the best, and in a light color. I have three small boys and the plastic wheels on the trucks have really dulled the finish in the kitchen. What can I do, short of refinishing them, to improve their luster. The hall, living room and dining room look pretty good, but the kitchen looks quite tired. Sadly this wood has pretty deep groves between each piece and cleaning that is a real chore, I think some of the finish is off in those areas. I have heard that buffing might improve it? I assume I would rent a buffer?

Thanks!
