The reclining mechanisms do limit your choices. Two others you might be able to find are Omnia. They are ostly leather but I was told you can order them in fabric also. I heard good things about them but I noticed a couple of displays not aligned just right (I was being picky) so I was wondering about longevity. Have no experience with them. Arhaus has two proprietaty brands, One of them has a recliner option, but you are not likely to see it on the floor. We only found out about them talking to the salesperson. The Hadley and the Brentwood are the models with those options. They will be shown in dark brown leathers but they have a lot of custom options -- and you will be ordering custom to get the recliners anyway. They do have sales and promotions that can save you a decent amount. The Hadley is 8 way hand tied, down wrapped cushions and such -- can't remember if the Brentwood is the same, but I would suspect it i since it is the same manufacturer.

I originally started this post 6 years ago. I am sorry this is still an issue for so many. I believe it has gotten even worse. Unfortunately, the design world does not make shoes for everyone. In my opinion, if a company decided to make stylish shoes in different widths and sizes that were midlevel priced, they would have a profitable business. I am sure it wouldn't be as profitable as others but there is money to be made. In six years I have bought several pairs of running sneakers, a pair of blue oxfords, and a lovely penny loafer from Trotters. Only the penny loafers are narrow. If I had access to stylish not frumpy choices I would have bought more. My 10-year-old black trouser flats with a rubber sole have split across the bottom of the ball of the foot. The leather still looks brand new. My amazing shoemaker said it was $60 to replace the soles and I should just buy new shoes. Well, I am replacing the soles as I can't find anything that fits and I like. Everyone has struggles and in the scheme of things, this is annoying but not life-threatening.

Take a look at Bradington Young or Omnia Furniture. Both offer many choices for power recliners in all top grain leather and both are made in America.

The (super old) house my husband and I recently purchased came with a stove and a fridge, both lower-end and pretty ugly, probably from the early 90s. Because they have no bells and whistles (stove doesn't even have a clock) and no microchips, there's not much on them to fail. They still work perfectly fine. We will replace them when we remodel the kitchen (though I might put the fridge in the basement for beer storage). I'm worried that we're just not going to find the sheer simplicity of our old grody stove in a new, high-end model. Not sure if I'll be able to convince hubby to go with a refurbished 50's stove (which will outlast anything built today, even though it is already decades older than the new stuff). My favorite appliance is my toaster. It'll be 85 years old this summer. They don't make them like this anymore, not even the expensive ones. Toasters were better before they put microchips in them. A modern toaster is not going to be working 85 years from now - it'll break because it's made out of cheap plastic and/or the chip will get fried/bug out. My parents have had luck with their mid-90s appliances - the Viking range has had one issue (oven wasn't heating past 120), but it was solved by minimal investigation and fixing by my dad. The integrated Sub-Zero fridge is still going without issue. The dishwasher has been replaced because the original one was some small European brand and getting parts for it was nigh impossible. I might go with Viking and Sun-Zero because I've actively observed those work for 20+ years. At the end of the day, I'm willing to spend lots more on appliances so that I can buy once and not think about it again. The thought of having to buy a new toaster every two years and a new washing machine every five years and a new dishwasher every seven years and so on sounds absolutely miserable. You'd basically always be at some stage in the process of researching/buying appliances. Ack!
