Fori, Yes, I make house calls. You cook, I'll organize.

Sally, they are on the inside of the cabinet. I was having trouble with Photobucket so my pictures weren't in the order I wanted. Crooked-- the 1/8 teaspoon hanger is higher that the others and the 1 tlbs is hanging crooked. OCD you know.

Wow, you do have sharp eyes! Actually those are pencil marks. My trial run had the cups too high; the marks have been erased.

I got the idea from Pinterest. I love that website for re-purposing, organizing, and travel ideas.

Very organized, Cathy! My only stab at organization lately has been to hang one of those shoe holders with the clear plastic pockets over the door of my pantry, on the inside. The pockets hold things like sandwich bags, baking powder, baking soda, cupcake papers, Pickle Crisp, canning jar lids, etc. It works pretty well but it's ugly.

My cups and spoons just get tossed into a drawer, I don't have any cupboard doors that are the right height to use like you did. Or maybe they're the right height and I'm just too short, LOL.

The farm, though? I have wrenches hanging on the wall, all sorted by size. Plastic bins for screws, nuts, bolts, washers. Buckets for fencing insulators. Hoes and hand tools all hanging on walls, you'd be proud.

Before I retired, my office was organized. There were piles of papers but everything had their place and I could put my hands on anything I needed in 15 seconds or less. Other offices would come to me for copies and information because everyone knew I'd know where it was.

Not my kitchen, though. Weird.....

Nice but I like my messy drawers. Every time I go in to find something it is an adventure. I went for the measuring cups and also found my mini scooper. That led to making mini meatballs for appitizers.

Spices are the same mess.But it is like finding a new treasure when I go hunting.

LOL, Peppi, my spices are all dumped into a drawer. I have lots of them and often find something I've forgotten I have, which leads to a whole new meal idea. Yes indeed, spice adventures....

Remember, you all have skills in the kitchen that I don't have. As they say "Organized people are just too lazy to look for things."

Annie, I too use the shoe organizer. It's my "junk drawer", it ain't pretty but it works.

I find I can be organized,
Or I can be creative.
But not both at once.

I like hanging things inside the cabinets. The door space is additional space there for the taking. I tape up laminated copies of frequently used recipes, packet things and the like. I tried hanging measuring cups and spoons but I didn't like it. Didn't work well for me so I put them back in the drawer. I had intended to hang the ring of measuring spoons and see if that's better but never got around to doing it.

Also have a clothespin inside a couple doors to hold recipes so they're off the counter.

I was expecting the Crane family too, Rusty!

Cathy, you are the woman! Now, when you have time, would you take some picks of your vintage gadgets and post them for us?

"Organized people are just too lazy to look for things." This is exactly why I have moved a teaspoon and a tablespoon measure to my smallest crock utensil holder.....so I don't have to open the drawer to get them out. I am a self-proclaimed lazy cook and proud of it.

LOL, Teresa. I just bought cheap plastic cups and spoons. I keep a one cup measure in my sugar canister, another in my flour canister. A teaspoon stays in my baking powder jar, another one in the yeast jar in the fridge.

I never look for them, they are just there.

Cynic, I'm with you. All of my interior cabinet doors do double duty.

Here's the deal, you all cook great food and I will do the cleaning and organizing.

Just for you Rusty...my brother took this last week when we took Beau for a hike near the lake.

Great idea! Mine are all in the bins with the other baking tools, pie plates, loaf pans, cake pans, muffin tins, sifter, etc.

I've swithered and swayed for a while, trying to duck out from reorganizing my own kitchen cabinets.

It may sound odd coming from me, but I'm thankful for the last snowstorm that swept through recently. It's been keeping me home.
Which, in turn, made me fidgety (I get that from my mother's side). Fidgety enough to get things done.

And we're expecting another storm tomorrow. Heaven only knows how much more I'll get accomplished. World Peace, perhaps? Ha.Ha. Kidding.

Cathy, I'm going to repeat my offer for you to come and stay with me and become my professional organizer! You have "mad" skills!

I tried holding up my measuring cups to see if they would fit when the door was closed. Unfortunately the shelves are too close to the edge for that to work.
When we put in new cupboards, I did make them shorten the length of one set of shelving so that I could add a wire rack to the length of one of the doors. The shelves there are pull outs and frankly too deep most of the time, Finding the items that would be tucked away beyond view would have been wasted, now they're more easily identified. I wish I had done that on more cabs, or had pullout pantries installed. At the time the cabinet company's cost was ridiculous and we only opted for one small one in the island. I use it constantly for vinegars and oils.
Sol--Recently DH "helped" me purchase quite a few more pieces of Le Creuset cookware and it necessitated a purge/reorganization of some areas. I found items and ingredients that were duplicates and long forgotten.

Nonetheless there are more areas that need attention-- and don't even get me started on my "office" !

Sol, It's not as tidy as I would like, I've got you all fooled.

Ellen, I'll be right over! I finally bit the bullet and had pullouts installed and I love them but they were pricey. Standard shelving does leave too much wasted space. So prior to the pullouts, I added an additional shelf to every base cabinet and pantry shelving to take advantage of otherwise wasted head space. Then to access items easier, I use labeled bins so I can pull out the bin of like items.

I love organization but then I cook, clean, empty the dishwasher and all of a sudden I'm not organized any longer. It stays in crazy dysfunction for 2-3 months then I can't stand it any longer and I purge, organize, clean, vacuum, dust and reorganize. I do need your skills!

I've been telling Cathy for years that she needs to bite the bullet and become a at home organizational person. ;-) I'd be a client at least every spring. lol

Oh and yes I've been in her kitchen. It's immaculate! Her laundry room is to die for and the guest quarters will make you never want to leave her house.
I'm thinking I need to go visit again and skim more ideas for my house!
