So glad someone has started this. I was around 166, was diagnosed with polymyalgia and atrial fibrilation. Was put on predisone and as a result jumped to 192. Although they say it is hard to get weight down when on prednisone, I really wanted to try. I was sick of being so heavy. I'm also on blood thinners and having problems trying to keep the readings steady. I decided that I was going to try to tabulate everything I ate to keep the Vitamin K at a steady daily level. My GP and cardiologist agreed to letting me do it, but they told me that no one would want to do that. However, I have stuck at it. Information is somewhat limited and I have had to do a lot of research. I'm trying to keep my calories at 1200 also, and the Vitamin K at 30 mcg's daily. It is very hard to balance them both. I'm now down to 155. The cardiologist says that is enough. I would like to get down to at least 150 and preferably 145. I want to do it slowly with the hope that it says off. I have to try to walk each day, because of the atrial fibrilation, and walk with a walker. I will be 80 in a few months. I did get a pedometer but can't manage the 10,000 steps suggested. Yesterday though, I did rack up a total of 6500 steps. That is the most yet. Usullally it is between 3 and 4,000. All the best to everyone. Let's make this site a popular one. Well, haven't done so well this week. With SS having early morning wrestling practice this week, just haven't had the extra time to exercise. So, up 2 pounds too. Next week is back to after school practice, so hopefully can get back into the routine before turkey day takes over the weekend. 195/192/155

I don't know why but yesterday was my brain didn't function very well and I couldn't remember NOTHING, including to weigh-in. The med clinic i go to is constantly changing "Student Dr." on me. My medical issues have gotten out of hand, so the current Dr. advised me to start taking Flax-seed oil to lower my cholesterol and "...it might help reach a better body weight.." I lost 7lbs in two weeks last visit and now I'm down 7 lbs again. Started 230 then went up to 233, that's when the Dr. got grouchy. started/ current/ Goal. 233____219___175 WELCOME powertoolgeek!!! SJV (San Joaquin Valley) time is more familiar as Pacific Standard Time, I forget not everyone is use to SJV. This valley has less the .25 of the population of San Fransisco OR Los Angeles OR San Diego, but we produce as much Tax income for the state as two of them combined. Agriculture. We have a hard time identifying with the "Big City folks" or the "Terribly-crazy party Folks" in the beach towns. I like to thank my DSIL too, I figure if DB served 23 years USAF, she did too. Happy SUNDAY! We have about 4 inches of a lovely mixture of sleet/ice outside. We were supposed to meet our fellow Snow Village clubmembers at Boscobel up in NY State near West Point. Well, that has been cancelled formally, even though DH did not want to make the trip this weekend. Looks like it's wrapping gifts for me now because I forgot to take out my cookie dough from the freezer last night! After wrapping, I will make a batch of almond shortbread and raspberry/hazelnut shortbread bars, so it should be productive. Oh, between that, I will punish myself by watching the JETS/Patriots game. Ohhhhhh, the humanity!!!!!!! LOL Patti/Dave, hope you are enjoying yourselves. I told DH yesterday that if you two are anywhere within a 3-hour range, we are all meeting up, even for a cup of coffee!! Marci, you are a tower of strength with those sweets, girlfriend. Sometimes when I'm tempted I think about how easy it seems for you to avoid the junk. I don't always win, but you have been so successful, that I have a 50/50 chance of victory! As the door slammed shut, I would see those shiny keys sneering at me from the front seat! Glad you are safely back in. Suzanne, DH is trying to think of a way to help you unfreeze that hydrant, but he tells me you will crack it if you pour warm water over it (my suggestion!).
